Martin Luther King Jr. was chosen to lead the boycott and he wanted the boycott to carry on without violence. Thousands of African Americans made the decision to walk to work without riding any form of public transportation. E.D. Nixon also took part in the boycotting for Rosa’s arrest and was responsible for sending out Ad’s to help support the boycott that was going on. The boycott finally ended when Montgomery decided to change their laws about segregation on public transportation. This has been proven to be one of the most successful boycotts against segregation in history. Rosa Parks made a huge difference in the United States when she chose not to give her seat up. After one year, members of the Supreme Court decided to rule segregation laws as unconstitutional and Rosa rode a city bus with E.D. Nixon and Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa sat in the front. Rosa eventually had to adjust to the life she was living because many challenges came her way. She lost her job as a seamstress and her husband was fired from his job. Rosa and her husband moved to Michigan, and there she worked as a secretary and receptionist in the U.S. Representative
