Why Is Senioritis Important?

Seniors, you know when you are trying to do homework or anything that is related to school and your motivation level is like at 0%? Or when you get behind in school and you try to get caught up but your motivation to catch up is gone? This is a problem that affects many seniors today. What is this problem you might ask? This is a problem called “Senioritis.” What is is senioritis you might ask? Senioritis is a problem that affects many seniors in the second half of the school year. Senioritis not only affects the average senior but, senioritis affects the top of the class seniors as well. I know that senioritis is a serious problem because I have senioritis. What senior doesn’t want to be done with school? Senioritis is a serious problem because even though seniors have been accepted to college, and know where the senior is attending, high school is still important. Eric Hoover has stated:

For different people senioritis could mean different things. To one person senioritis might be having no motivation to do homework. To another person senioritis might be doing nothing at all. According to Carol Chmelynski, senioritis is “goofing off.” (Chmelynski, 2006) No matter who you ask, the definition of senioritis will be different but, the real question is how can we cure senioritis? I have found many articles that share many different ideas of how to solve the problem of senioritis. The articles suggest many different solutions. The first few articles mirror each other and talk about curing senioritis by giving seniors a chance to learn on their own. The articles suggest allowing seniors to do internships, a senior project, or go on a senior study trip.
