Why Is Simulation Better Than Learning
Simulation is a better way to learn. Learning by reading the documents, or by listening to our teacher must be very boring. Those two learning ways are one-way teaching approach. The learner can't clarify whether the material is right or not, and don't know whether totally understand. Simulation will give feedback as soon as you run it, and it's much more interesting than just reading or

(Forrester, 1961) states the simulation consists of tracing through the flows of orders, goods, and information actually then observing the sequences of new decisions. Adams et al. (1999), process simulation can be used to support several key steps in the continuous improvement process. To be most effective, simulation models should be developed that apply continuous improvement concepts.…

When I saw the problem, I first thought it was not going to be possible to solve. Meaning; that I would not solve this problem without more information. When I sent the cat over first the mouse and dog did not fight by their selves. Then whenever I sent the dog or mouse over, they would fight with the cat. I even thought about leaving the cat on the existing shore and trying to move the mouse and dog, and found that the cat fought with them there on the existing shore. My thoughts then were that there had to be a trick to this. I had a conceptual block and knew there was something else to the problem that was not mentioned in the writing [ (Morris & Maisto, 2002) ].…

I think the whole idea of this exercise of the government simulation is a pretty good idea. The government simulation allows students to experienced new things and learn how things worked in U.S. history to shape our government into what it is today. This also allows us to get a better understanding of the revolution and how government worked its way around war against britain as our class did similar things such as signing a treaty of unity with West Richardistan and allying with them to attack against Hagaña for taking our 8th grade lawn from us similar to how Britain took the rights of the thirteen colonies. Unfortunately unlike the colonists, we did not win the war as Hagaña had better players than us. I thought that taking over the lands, going to war, voting on a president and signing voting on bills was pretty cool and a very fun learning…

Simulation was very effective given the environment that it was conducted in was practical enough and exposed the student to real life situation with patients (Dreifuerst, 2009). The simulation method was also effective since it offered a diverse learning opportunity that is not offered in class and also helped the student know the importance of communicating and engaging the patient. The simulation gave the student an opportunity to learn…

I guess the only thing in simulation that contradicted the information learned in theory was the way that our patient and family member reacted throughout the scenario. Since students played the roles of patient and family member, it’s obvious that this is not at all how it would be in real-life. I am certain that things would be a lot more hectic with a real patient that is experiencing a postpartum hemorrhage. Our patient was very calm and understanding. A real patient would most likely be screaming and crying and the significant other would certainly have a lot more questions about what is wrong and what was going to happen. I did, however, gain a much better understanding of different ways to deal with overbearing family members.…

The simulation offered clues and hints for me to focus on. For example, I needed to sharpen my communication skills by talking slowly, choosing my words appropriately, and speaking less formal. This is an important step to accomplish so I can make a sound conversation that based on courtesy and comfort. What I also liked about the simulation session wass that it gave me chance to practice on real people without the worry of making mistakes. The mistakes I made during the session provided insight about my current knowledge and expertise in the complex nursing and medical world.…

The simulation for reproductive health was certainly a learning experience. While practicing with the patient, I was able to identify my own strengths and weaknesses. However, as the preceptor said, simulation is not simply about learning from practicing with the dummies. It is about learning from the other teams. This is certainly true. I learned about what I should do with a real patient as well as what I should not do by watching the other teams.…

The first benefits I gained from the simulation lab is the opportunity to get familiar with the environment and equipment in the ICU so that I know what to expect in real patient situation. Second it allowed me to practice how to organize the room to make sure that no tub or lines get pulled during treatment. Third this lab was an occasion to use problem solving skills to come up with solutions when there was a change in patient status.…
