With a loud sigh, Solaris turns around and faces his father. “You rang, dad?”
“I just want you to know...that I love you and I will be eternally proud and blessed that you are my son.” said King Tegalia. “Stay safe on your travels and be ready, my son.”
This confused Solaris. He was about to go on a trip to meet his future wife, Lady Anastasia, who he had known for since his childhood and was glad he was able to marry. She was an oracle and it was her duty to marry the prince and help him along the way to be king. It also helped that they were in love with each other anyways. “You seem kinda off.”
“I bring devastating news.” Lucius replied. “I discovered it at the newsstand near the market.”
“What is it?” Solaris asked.
Lucius plopped a newspaper onto the hood of the car and Detritus started to read. As he continued his eyes widened. A drop of sweat fell from his face and he swore under his breath.
“No way…” he said.
“What the heck is it? Lemme see!” Solaris said.
With unstable hands, he handed the paper to Solaris. The title read, “Irivana has Fallen.”
It explained that they were attacked by another empire named Thacrutian, which they were trying to form an alliance with that turned on them. This enraged Solaris. He crumpled the newspaper slowly and gritted his teeth.
“Are they insane?” he growled. “What the heck do they think they’re doing?”
“Sol, you need to keep your composure.” Vlad said.
“I’m as composed as I’m going to get!” Solaris yelled. “I’m going to slaughter them.”
“Sol. I’m warning you.” Vlad said.
“Yeah man. There has to be an explanation.” said Detritus. He said that, but Solaris knew him long enough that he could tell by his expression and voice he was unsure and terrified of these events.
“I suggest that we head back and inspect the situation as a whole.” said
