Why Is The Industrial Revolution Important
The Industrial Revolution Today’s highly advanced world began with the inventions and technological discoveries of the Industrial revolution that began in the small, but powerful country of Great Britain rather than any other country and spread throughout the world. Before the start of the Industrial revolution, an age of Enlightenment occurred that brought forward new ideas and innovations that paved a new era of science and inventions. The Industrial revolution was the period in which machines were created to mass-produce products as the population grew. Earlier, during the Enlightenment, philosophes had introduced the ideas and innovations that would soon cause inspiration to create and think in modern ways. The majority of the philosophes were from Britain therefore influence was strong within the country. Soon, the Industrialization spread to nearby European countries, but took years to fully circulate. The present-day United States would not be the power it is today if it were not to have been ruled over by Britain. Since the Industrial revolution began while Britain had control over the American colonies, the United States gained influence from the machines and inventions that were being created. It “took time for the revolution to completely spread throughout the entire western world”, so the United States had an advantage which shows today ("History of the Industrial Revolution."). Negative and positive situations came out of the circumstances of industrialization that changed world history. For instance, “female labor was more preferred over male because factories could pay females less” ("Economic Growth and the Early Industrial Revolution."). Although females had a new found independence that consisted of no longer having to rely on the male figure in the family to bring home the money. This changed history as females were now allowed to work, but created a problem because women were not paid equally to
