Urbanization is it good or bad? In order to go forward, urbanization is a necessary evil. It is the transition from rural areas to a more urban place. There are some losses in property, but it is a necessary thing to do to improve the community. Urbanization helps the world to be more sufficient. It can help bring up the economy, spread cultures and ideas, and it is more convenient. In Nectar in a Sieve, the property Rukmani and Nathan’s house was bought out by the tannery. “Somehow I had always felt the tannery would eventually be our undoing.” (Markandaya 131). Sadly their land was taken for the tannery but it will help open up jobs and help bring the economy up. Dr. Kenny was a European doctor who went to India to build a hospital for the people. Building the hospital helped people with their health and gave people jobs.
