Alcohol abuse can also damage the salivary glands, irritate the mouth in a sever way and tongue, which would lead to gum disease, tooth decay or ache, and even could cause tooth loss. Individuals with heavy drinking act can expose their body system to ulcers in the esophagus because heavy drinking causes ulcers in the esophagus and heartburn. Alcohol also causes inflammation of the pancreas which can directly interfere with digestion and the regulation of metabolism. Alcohol does make it harder for digestive tract to be able to absorb nutrients and B vitamins or even control bacteria at any means. Majority of Alcoholics often suffer from malnutrition due to the reason they don’t eat good food, all they depend on is drinking till they wasted. Heavy drinkers are most likely to face higher risk of mouth cancer, throat cancer, and esophagus cancer. While the moderate drinkers in the presence of the use tobacco can raise or put themselves at risk of what is called the upper-gastrointestinal cancers.
