Why Should The Government Fund The NIEHS?
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, also known as the NIEHS, is dedicated to helping our environment and health, so why would the government not fund them. The NIEHS wants to be funded by the federal government to help them on their journey in helping our environment. They are asking for $680,000,000 to help progress their work on our planet. We all know the one thing that should be most important to us all, is living a happy and healthy life. So the federal government should fund the NIEHS to get the movement going and lead us to a much better environment. we must take the opportunity because doors won't stay open forever. To begin, our top priority should be our health. This is why the government should fund the NIEHS to help improve the environment. In the article ¨Environmental Justice: What Does That Mean¨ it asserts, “The chance to have a healthy life often depends on where someone lives, plays, and works-yes, it depends on the environment! So it is important that ALL environments are free and unhealthy materials.” (paragraph 2). No matter where one is there is the risk of endangering your health. With the project that the NIEHS is trying to work on, they would begin the movement in bettering our everyday lives. The world around us is full of chemicals and waste that truly affect us. Some may not notice, but others do, for example, the NIEHS. They have taken notice of a huge world round problem and are trying to help make it better, but are in need of help as well. In continuation, the environment is defined as “the surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or plant lives or operates.” This means the environment is basically our lives. So as much as we care for the sake of us living another day we should take in count the world around us. As an effect on the world is an effect to us. “So it’s important that ALL environments are free of unhealthy materials. Unhealthy materials can cause illness and sometimes even death. Environmental justice means being sure that everyone has a fair chance in finding housing, employment, and a good education, all in a safe and protected environment.” proposed the article ¨Environmental Justice: What Does That Mean¨ (paragraph 2). They have begun to fully demonstrate that there is still potential to get us to a much better state of our lives. Having the federal government fund the NIEHS would be a huge step up the ladder in our world. As the top priority is to help many people and animals live in a better world. This shows the true dedication the NIEHS has as they are working hard to keep everyone in the world safe and healthy. If the government was to fund the NIEHS the $680,000,000 more in-likely they would really take in count the money and help make the world a better place. They have proven many good things in which the government should consider funding a company who has true dedications on bettering our
world. To conclude, if our federal government truly cared for the sake and the lives of the people it shouldn't hurt them in funding the NIEHS. They have begun to slowly move up their project in helping us improve our daily lives, have a better environment, and to let everyone receive environmental justice, despite other research companies.
