Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet
Part 1
For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions.
Physical health: This is about the body size. I like walking for my exercise to try and stay in shape and to lose weight. Most women are not happy about their body size, I am just ok with my body size but need to start working out on a steady basics. I try to walk …show more content…
With intellectual health, it is the ability to know right from wrong. I have to be clear headed at work to make the right decisions and to be able to deal with customers with is part of the social health. I have to be able to open and close the registers and be sure that they come out with the correct closing amount.
Environmental health: This is around the world around you and your surroundings. You have to protect and preserve by being conscience of recycling, not dumping oil into the soil, repurposing items instead of just throwing into the trash. I am trying to protecting the environmental for my granddaughter, by using a reusable water bottle and not adding tons of plastic water bottles to the land fields. Another way to protect and preserve the environmental health is planting trees to help clean the air and help with soil erosion.
Emotional health: Emotional health for me to a tough one, I have a hard time with controlling certain emotions, I can cry very easily like when I am happy, sad, mad, or over a sappy movie and that can make some people uncomfortable. I need to work on my self- esteem and self-confidence; I only have a little confidence in certain areas of my life and my self-esteem has taken some hard blows but I find the way to pull myself up the boots straps and do what needs to be …show more content…
If you are missing one of the six I think it affects the other areas of health. I see this with my son who has anxiety and panic attacks, when he has an attack then he is more likely to get sick like with a cold and then it takes him forever to feel his old self again, he says he is never really good. I know for me being spiritual healthy makes it easier for me to be emotionally healthy. I have to be happy and feel good about me with is hard but I am learning it is ok not to be perfect as long as you are happy with your body, mind and soul. I know that I feel all around better when I can work out in some way whether it be working out, working in the garden or taking a walk. It is important to take care of yourself by eating healthy, protecting your skin with sunscreen, not going outside when the pollen level is high for me. Enjoying a good movie that makes me cry can release stress and tense as well as watching a movie that makes me laugh so hard I cry. I try and relate to my co-workers maintaining social healthy relationships, by being open minded to be a good and understand friend and co-worker. At work I am in charge of the recycle program, if we can reuse, repurpose that is a way to save the environmental and that makes for a happy
