Why Skateboarding Should Be Banned?
Don't Bann Skateboarding

City Council is considering banning skateboarding because there have been cases in damaged property and noise complaint from residents. I am against the banning of skateboarding because skateboarding allows people to take part in competitions, and to also meet new people effortlessly which is a wonderful quality considering today's society. Another reason not to ban skateboarding is that now kids are outside and not inside all day long. Skateboarding is also a career that many want to achieve. The skateboard is not an activity that should be banned just because some teens were a little too loud or accidentally knocked over someone's trash can. Skateboarding helps brings kids and sometimes even adults together for little fun with their kids.

People come from all over to see someone fall flat on their face or they either came to take part in the competition themselves. Skateboarding assists people to become more social and to come out of their comfort zone. Professional skateboarders can make between $500K to 1 million dollars. Winning in any sport or activity can help with someone's self-confidence. Youth should not be banned from participating in sports like dodgeball, cheerleading, and football in schools. To begin, dodge ball shouldn’t be banned in school because it teaches kids mental and physical skills. According to Rick Hanthena’s opinion on dodge ball, he says, “He also argues that it teaches hand-eye coordination, concentration and the ability to to think and draw quick conclusions”(pg. 171). This proves that Rick Hanthena wants to keep dodgeball in school because of the lessons it can teach. A reason why cheerleading shouldn’t be banned in schools is because cheerleading coaches are trained and certified. My evidence from Johnson's certification is, “Johnson is an experienced coach with safety training and cheer certifications.…

Many states have already begun banning dodgeball in their physical education curriculums. As of now 9,137 schools have taken dodgeball out of their programs, and all the time new schools are considering it. The reason for this is that they think our country should not have any games with human targets. Officials believe these are the first signs of how the stronger people can pick on the weaker, and they also don’t want children competing with each other. On the contrary, dodgeball is a fun way to receive exercise. It is also not an everyday activity that children should look forward to. There is no reason for it to be taken out of gym programs. In fact, it should not be banned because it’s one of first times kids will be able to deal with their problems independently and to develop a competitive sense.…

“School should be about learning, not sports”. Kids now a days love to play sports, but don’t like to learn. Learning, and get an education this is a very important thing in life you need it to have a good job so that you can have a family and support them. So I feel in school you must have good grades in order to play any type of sport, and if you do not then you should not be playing. A couple reasons I feel like this is for starters kids pay more attention to sports then they do in class. This is not how this should be. Kids should love to learn something new every day at school, but in some school that’s not the case. Kids need to learn.…

Youths that are in middle school and primary should be banned from playing dodge ball, cheerleading, and football in schools. I agree that youths should be banned because, most of these sports can contain hurtful things towards other kids. According to a dodgeball coach Neil Williams, a professor of education at Eastern Connecticut State University, “The game allows the stronger kids to pick and target the weaker kids.” This proves that some of these games will allow kids to get bullied throughout games and sports. Cheer is very dangerous every year there are lots of girls and boys getting hurt during cheer. According to Lynne Castro the mother of Costa Mesa she says cheerleading is scary. “It’s scary. It’s scary,” said Lynne Castro, Cheerleading…

One reason schools should get rid of sports is because we need to focus on learning. In the spring of 2012, Premont Independent School District was threatened by the state because of education failing and money issues. Schools should ban tag and other playground games. Banning tag is a good idea because it will limit the amount of injuries. When kids play tag, sometimes it can get a little too rough and lead to them getting hurt. When we ban tag, we eliminate the amount of kids that go home with injuries. To add on, banning tag and other playground games will also limit the amount of bullying.Sometimes kids are repeatedly targeted by bullies. When we take tag away, we prevent this situation from even starting. This will make sure kids feelings won't get hurt. One time my son came home crying because kids kept singling him out in tag. Taking away tag will also prevent lawsuits against schools. When kids get hurt some parents will sue the schools. This means the schools have to pay a lot of money to the parents because their kids got hurt. When we take away tag, this insures that the parents will now have little to no reason to sue the schools.…

Along with the physical and competitive attributes, the sport should be able to generate revenue and attract a viewing audience. This brings us to yet another inquisition: how could snowboarding as a high school sport meet these qualifications? If you have ever watched the “X-Games” or the Olympics, you would already know that snowboarding is undoubtedly a national sport that has many viewers and generates plenty of revenue. Is this not enough for the sport to branch off from professional and recreational…
