In the article “The California Gold Rush” the author states that many different people from foreign countries had come to California in order to seek their fortune (Mcgill 1-2). This quote tells the readers that many people not only from the U.S were wanting to find their fortune in California, no matter how far they were from there. Also in the article “ The California Gold Rush” it says that many people on the east coast had the more difficult journey than those who traveled by sea because they had to deal with the Native Americans (Mcgill 1-2).
