It is the king's fault for not making complete sure of what the goldsmith said due to the fact that the goldsmith said very clearly that the crown would be of the same weight. The king should’ve made sure he meant completely what he said. All the goldsmith said is that he wold take the gold and make a beautiful crown for everyone to see. He even said that he would create it in ninety days exactly, he managed to get it to the king that exact day. Why does it matter if he kept a little bit of the gold, it may not have been the best thing to do but it sure wasn’t illegal.
