Why The United States Won The Vietnam War?

The Vietnam war was a civil war between the Vietcong and South Vietnam. Until the U.S. intervened. The U.S. sent troops over because they thought that if the Vietcong won the war it would affect the U.S. The U.S. sent troops and resources over to Vietnam in 1965. The U.S. withdrew their troops on March 29, 1973. The United States should have taken their troops out soon, because there were to many casualties. The war caused divisions among the people. The U.S. wasted resources on the war. The Vietnam war divide the nation. Some people wanted the send more support, while others believed that war isn’t the answer. There was protest that believed that this is an anti-war universe. While another protest group wanted to support their men in Vietnam (picture 4 and 5). So this war did more bad than good on both sides of the front.
Over 58,000 U.S. soldiers died in the Vietnam War (Vietnam War U.S. Military Fatal Casualty Statistics 1). That is a lot of lives lost, but just imagine the families that those men belonged to. Each soldier could have had a wife and two kids. That increases the impact of the war by four times! The war was not worth the hundreds of thousands of lives ruined. The United States wasted resources on this war, because they believed sending more resources and troops would end the war. When in fact it had the opposite effect. The government sent more and more bombs over to Vietnam (Political carton #1). This caused the Vietcong to begin more attacks of the U.S. soldiers.
