Ken Kutaragi was a hero because he changed so much about the gaming community, he invented, the led, and he broke barriers, he had courage and perseverance. That is why he is a hero and these are the three reasons why.
Ken Kutaragi, a man that broke the expectations when sony broke partnership with nintendo. Ken Kutaragi urged Sony to continue the project after they split from nintendo, threatening to quit if it was canceled. His judgment proved well when on December 3 1994 the PS1 was met with Immediate and great success. The consol sold over one million consoles in the first year. The PS1 was the first console to achieve such a feat, all thanks to Ken. The PS1 was later nicknamed “the toy that saved sony”. Due to this success, which the how of its success will be explained later, led Ken Kutaragi to be named CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment.Now, Ken’s system broke a major barrier in the world of gaming tech, The PlayStation one, more commonly known as PS1, became the first ever console to utilise disks for gaming instead of cartridges. This was majorly different from sony’s contender’s consol, the Super Nintendo 64. Which still used cartridges and would continue to do so till the Wii. The PS1 also had top of the line graphics.
