Unit 4 P4
Introduction
In this report I will talk about PlayStation 4, a product from Sony Company, and the most rated among all the products. PS4 (PlayStation 4) is what the name itself says, it is a console that allows you to play video games, but it is made for more activities, such as watching movies, browse the internet and listen to music.

Sony has made a lot of advertising in order to promote their product. PlayStation has been one of the most successful products since when Sony started to put it on the market. Sony has already sold millions of consoles worldwide in less than 2 months. In North America Sony sold over a million in less than 24 hours.
Sony made their advertisement is sending out a very clear message the advertise is also quite interesting and that made people quite anxious about it. “Greatness Awaits”; this quote brought curiousness for the people, and since people already knew how the previous PlayStation (PS3) was, they would expect a lot more in it, and they were not disappointed at all, it was a success for Sony. People did not expect that much, but greatness was required in order to maintain its growth as a video game console (getting better and better through the time).

They made two adverts, one was before its release, and another one after it .I think they made a clear message because the content of the poster is clear and straight to the point. The first one says “Greatness Awaits”. The advert was very good, it has a short and very powerful meaning. The second one says “This is for the Players”; I think this one is quite individual and it brings an impression that is just for a certain group of people. I think the second one could be improved in a way that every person would like it, even if they don’t know how to use it, to inspire people to have it, such as “Where the Connected world is” or “The Greatness of the Entertainment”. Apart from that, the image in the advertisement

Microsoft learnt from their past mistake they committed five years ago, when they entered the market a year later with a technically superior product than Sony's Playstation2. The PlayStation gaming system has been around for many years. Now in there are plenty of features that stands out. The price is one of the most interesting factors. Sony has dropped the price in the early stage of the PlayStation 4 to affordable price of $299.00. Making it's a affordable gaming console that offers a wide range of different games. Another reason why I enjoy this gaming console it offers a built in wifi system with no extra cost. Other features that makes this brand stand out is the graphics and design of the console. With any type of computer like system the heart of it is the central processing unit. This feature gives the PlayStation 4 an excellent graphic experience that causes individual to fall in love with its system. The gaming console controller is featured with gripped handles and easy to understand movements of the controls.…

The Games Console market is a volatile industry with changes of market leadership happening frequently as new Consoles and games are released . Each new console generation, which typically lasts 5–7 years, experiences significant changes in market share.[citation needed] For example, although the Nintendo NES enjoyed a 90% market share during the 8-bit era,[citation needed] this dropped to approximately 60% after the 16-bit era, with Sega being responsible for the majority of this change with their Mega Drive/Sega Genesis.[citation needed] Likewise, during the 32/64-bit era, Sega’s market share plummeted with the Sega Saturn, and Sony – a newcomer in the industry – became the market leader[citation needed] (Nintendo took second place with their Nintendo 64).[citation needed] As of 2005, the most significant console manufacturers in the industry during the 128-bit era were Sony (PlayStation 2), Nintendo (Nintendo GameCube), and Microsoft (Xbox).[citation needed] Of these three, Sony remained worldwide market leader with Nintendo and Microsoft roughly equal in second place,[citation needed] each dominating the competitor in its home territory.[citation needed] Two years into the seventh generation era, Microsoft has grabbed an early lead with the release of the Xbox 360 in North America on November 22, 2005 and the continuation of its revolutionary Xbox LIVE service.[citation needed] The release of the PlayStation 3 in Japan on November 11, 2006, and Wii in North America on November 19, 2006, saw gamers snub the pricey PS3 in favor of the more accessible Wii, despite its inferior graphical capabilities compared to the other two.[citation needed] The Wii remains in high demand (outstripping supply in some areas) and has surpassed the Xbox 360 while PS3 lags behind with less than half the worldwide sales of either competitor. Industry analysts caution that it is too early to call for final standings, with all three consoles anticipating new titles from major…
