Feeding the beast

In the essay, "Why We Crave Horror Movies" by the author Stephen king; He tries to explain how a two-hour horror film may be one's way of stepping out of life's boundaries and all the expectations on what is right and wrong. He states that it's a relief of ones inner violence, a fix of adrenaline and fun and it dares the nightmare. You get to face your biggest fear from the comfort of your own home, and that's not to say that a good horror movies can and will make you jump from your seat. In the essay Stephen stated, "If we are all insane, then insane becomes a matter of degree." The statement he said is to the point. We all laugh about a private joke aloud when we're completely alone and sometimes we even talk to ourselves, Some can break into move when they think no one is watching them. Everyone needs a little stress release method, everyone needs to feed the beast inside.
If everyone is a little dark and twisted inside what makes normal, normal?
We all like to show that we can conquer our fear given the circumstance. A horror film can be practice for the real thing or atlas it makes us feel like we are somehow or someway prepared. We all know sick jokes. Sick jokes that we hear from the people we least expected it to come from but it's inside everyone and that's a horror movie job and it does it beautifully. It's job is to deliberately bring the little piece of darkness inside us to surface long enough to be enjoyed and then sends it back inside once the credits show at the end of the
film. This is all true, We are all born with it. You give a baby chicken to a little kid and their basic instinct is to hold it tight until the baby chicken dies. Some might even pull the baby chicken's head off, Sounds gross doesn't it? But it's true. The kid doesn't do it on purpose. It doesn't have any knowledge about the atrocity that is being committed. However with all this very convincing points I just shared with you do you still wonder if it's true? If it's in all of us? What about the person that doesn't like horror films, or literature that has the slightest sense of evil? Was that person born without the dark part of our souls? And if you given that person as a baby a baby chicken what would be their instinct? Maybe it would be to take care of it. Maybe all the convincing facts that Stephen explained were just a mere act of selling his product; fear. I believe that it wasn't just a mere act of a desperate man trying to sell. I believe they simply chose Mr. King to talk about this topic because it's his specialty. You wouldn't ask a chef to talk about an open heart surgery much less perform it. So why would you ask a poet to talk about horror stories? It all comes down to making sure that beast inside is fed. At the end of Stephen's essay he writes "It was Lennon and McCarthy who said that all you need is love, and I would agree with that. As long as you keep the gators fed." And you wouldn't ask a daycare teacher to feed to gators would you? I mean you could but that would be quite a sick joke.
