First off I joined the military to improve myself physically and mentally. Before I joined the military I used to be 260 lbs of fat. I was a lazy teenager that didn't do a single sport, didn't care about a thing in the world, never respected my parents, didn't want to do to college because i was socially awkward, never finish a what I started, gave up on everything when it got a little difficult, and most of all I was FAT.
And I needed a change in my life.
So I decided to go to the recruiting station to talk and you know what they said to me. I was a Fat and couldn't join until I lost X amount of lbs. I told myself not going to quit this Im going to work for this. So since that day I ran even though I could only run to the end of the street (about a 1/4 of a mile) at a 15 minute mile and was about to die. I did something to work for it. As time went by I went longer, further, and faster.
I went back to the recruiting station after losing 20 lbs and talk again and they gave me a 1 1 1 to see where I'm at. I got a 12 minute mile, 5 push ups, (they said zero counted) and 20 sit ups. I had zero muscle mass. But kept working at it.
I finally signed the dotted line and ready to be shipped off to Basic combat training and got the MOS of a 94M Radar Repairer. Which I knew nothing about. I still kept on working on losing the weight. And then I got to OTD.... Game changer. Basic was nothing compared to OTD. Then I met SSG Nessen, SSG Hohmann, SSG Leal, and SSG Freeman. I never had to work this hard for something til I got to OTD. Which is what I needed. I got pissed, start punching doors til my knuckles bleed, get in trouble for the most stupidest crap, do details like scrubbing the floors, police call the yard 5 times a day just because ect, ect, ect. Ive learned how to be patient, do BY THE BOOK PT with your fingers straight and arms parallel with the marching surface, palm facing in at all times. Though some days I don't give a
