There are several advantages in the model of the Wii. One of the first major competitive advantages for Wii is the better price comparison it has over some of its major competitors. It is approximately 20-30 percent cheaper than the X-box 360 and the Sony Playsation 3. This is especially important in the recessionary times which we are living. Consumers are looking for the best perceived value they can get out there at the moment. Wii are providing this for the consumers of game consoles. Another one of its main competitive advantages from the Wii is its unique game play. It was a leader in the games console area sensing dept and motion from players. It had an innovative motion controller which integrates the movement of players directly into the game. This led people playing tennis, golf, boxing etc. directly with game. What followed on from this was another competitive advantage for the Wii console. This is the fact that the console is mainly family orientated in comparison to its competitors. A result of the motion controller is that it opens up a whole new market to families and over 30’s.
