Wilbur Doves: A Short Story

Wilbur Wilcox was an average kid who was as pale as a vampire. When he was 3 his whole family disappeared and he was adopted. His new family was loving and kind, especially his brother Joey. Joey shared his toys with Wilbur all the time and helped him with his homework. Wilbur had just gone into highschool and was being bullied. He was helping his gym coach in the changing room, and his bullies followed him. The first second his coach walked out, he was being violently beaten and had entered a coma.

Gasp! Wilbur had jost woke up after 20 years of being in his coma and was laying in a comfortable hospital bed. He was now 35 in the year 2036. His doctor helped him out of bed and he was standing. He tried to walk but staggered and fell to his knees. Wilbur forgot how to walk and was learning again. He asked the doctor if he could see his family and he responded “It's hard to tell you this but your family disappeared 10 years ago. Wilbur was furious and sad after hearing this. He thought “is this a coincidence that both of my families disappeared?”

Wilbur had just learned to walk again and was able to leave the hospital. He was surprised when he went outside. Everything was not like he remembered, he saw
hovering cars and a highway that had a glowing blue road with glowing white lines in the middle. Everything was upgraded. This sounded like a movie but it was reality. Wilbur then was walking to his old house and was surprised that it was still there. He knocked on the door and it flew open. No one was there. He went to where his old room was and saw a faint glowing blue light coming out of the bottom of the door. He slowly walked into his room and saw a glowing blue crystal. He unknowingly grabbed it and everything went dark. He was unconscious. He woke up and saw nothing. He was screaming because he couldn't see. Then there was a strange racket. They were footsteps gradually getting louder. Thump. Hit in the head he was knocked out. When he awoke he was in a chilling cave but didn't know.

Wilbur said “Is anybody there?” and someone replied “Wilbur i'm standing right in front of you are you blind?” Wilbur knew that voice. “Joey is that you? I can't see anything.” “It's me.” Joey said. “I thought you were going to die. When did you wake up?”. “A month before whatever day this is. The doctor said you disappeared.” Wilbur and joey went to a diner where they sat and ate.
“What am i going to do with my life?. Is there a cure for blindness?”. “Yes” joey said “But it's two million dollars. If you need a job I can help but it will take a good spirit and a lot of training.” “What job is it?” Wilbur asked. “A hitman” joey replied “Except you only kill criminals. Every hit completed is twenty thousand dollars” Wilbur replied “A blind hitman? I should just give up now.

“Where are we?” Wilbur asked.
“At my house joey responded. Joeys house was a vibrant yellow with two floors and a glass balcony at the top floor. Joey took wilbur inside and they wend into an elevator. Wilbur heard a lot of buttons mashing and the elevator dropped. “Welcome to my underground lair. This is where i will train you First let's start off with basic training, combat.” Joey taught wilbur to use a sword, how to use his senses, wilbur also lifted weights, and was taught a good posture. They trained for six months. The last thing he had to do was complete his first hit. He was given a pair of goggles that outlined his enemies in red and his allies in green. The goggles only showed the outlines and everything else was black, so his goggles were
useful.
Wilbur went to a orange house where he killed his first victim. The next hit he had to complete was on a russian cartel, transporting guns through the border. Wilbur went to a warehouse where they were hiding and silently killed them.

The next and final hit he had to complete would be the hardest of them all. He had to defeat a whole army of assassins that were planning to kill the governor. Wilbur went to Joey's lair where he was given a new gun called The Purging infinity. When you shot an enemy it would not only penetrate the skin, but would also shock them. That wasn't the best part though, but it was that it was an automatic pistol that you never had to reload. It was a yellow gun with 2 barrels that rotated with a glowing blue infinity sign. Wilbur still couldn't complete his hit yet. He had to travel four hundred miles to a gave guarded by giant psychos with clubs, to get a partner to help him named Lilith. Lilith was also known as the Firehawk. She had red hair and inhuman powers. She could teleport and shoot a wave of purple gas that could kill instantly.

Wilbur arrived at the cave using a self driving airplane. He entered the cave and saw giant red outlines that looked to be about eight feet tall. The cave he was in had jagged purple rocks with glowing pink crystals embedded inside and a steel platform hovering over a dark pit that looked like it went on forever. The caves only light were the crystals. Wilbur silently snuck up behind one of the psychos and pulled the trigger to his gun. The psycho he shot was not dead but being electrocuted. It finally went down and the other psychos observantly ran towards Wilbur. Wilbur was being hit by the clubs. “HISS!” Wilbur looked towards the sound and saw all of the psychos red outlines on the ground dead. Then something caught his attention, a green outline standing in the middle. “Im Lilith” She said breathing hard. “See those rocks on the ground? That's eridium. Can you give me some?” “Im blind” wilbur said . “Guide me to it.” She told him where it was and he gave it to her. She pressed the eridium in her hands together and it infused inside of her. She illuminated purple and was now energized. Wilbur told lilith about the mission and they got ready. Lilith took Wilbur to her house using the airplane he arrived in. The airplane landed and they both exited. Lilith's house was a light blue and the paint was chipping. Her house had a little garage which she opened. Inside there was a little car with hidden guns and it looked like a dune buggy. They both got in and it started up. It had a little screen in the middle which had a gps and a video communicator. Lilith drove to where the gps told her to and they were in nevada in a desert. There was nothing around. There was supposed to be a bunker but there wasn't. The both of them both drove around until they found it. The front of the bunker was unguarded. Lilith looked through the entrance window and saw an unguarded staircase. Lilith and Wilbur walked down and got to the bottom. They were both in for a surprise.

Lilith saw a colossal room the size of a football stadium while Wilbur saw several thousand red outlines. Lilith then said “I got this.” Wilbur then saw her green outline in the middle of the crowd of assassins and then a couple hundred fall. Wilbur used his infinity pistol to kill some too. The battle was harsh and violent but they both won, or they thought. A Tall, wide metal gate then opened and out came a giant red outline with a tiny one inside. A high pitched voice then said “HOW DARE YOU COME INTO MY HOME AND KILL MY MINIONS! TIME TO DIE!” Turrets then came out of the robot's shoulders and started firing missiles. “Hey have any extra eridium?” Lilith asked. Wilbur handed it to her and she teleported inside the robot and used her powers. “Its not working he has on a mask!” Wilbur then tried his pistol and it didn't work. He then remembered that Joey gave him a rocket launcher keychain that turned into a real one when you shook it. So Wilbur shook it and fired it. “BOOM!”

The robot exploded and out came Lilith and the small figure. “Please no don't hurt me!” said the figure. It turned out to be a midget with a robotic eye, torn ragged shorts, and ashy skin.
Wilbur then killed him, and went to aid Lilith. He handed her eridium and she then got back up.
Lilith and Wilbur headed back to Joey's underground lair. When they arrived Joey had thick body armour on, 10 grenades on his side, a rifle in his hands, a pistol in a holster, and a sniper rifle attached to his back. “Lilith.” Wilbur whispered. “His outline is red.” “Joey what are you doing?” Lilith asked. “Tricking you. You killed all of those criminals for me. I am now the biggest criminal because of you. Now i am going to kill the president and, oh yeah, don't try to stop me.”

Lilith and Wilbur tried to stop him but they failed. Joey stunned them for a minute and welt to his garage to get a car. His garage was the biggest part of his house (excluding his lair).
Joey got in a heavily armored car and took off. Lilith went to his garage and broke one of his cars window. The alarm went of but luckily she found the keys setting inside. Wilbur followed Lilith into the car and they took off. They quickly caught up with Joey and rammed him. His car wouldn't bulge. When he stopped he was in front of the white house. He rammed the gate open with his car and got out. Joey shot all of the guards and wouldn't stop. Wilbur didn't want to be he had to stop Joey. He shot his pistol and hit Joey in the only part of his body that wasn't armored, His head. Joey fell and instantly died. The president walked outside confused and thanked Wilbur.
He also gave Wilbur two million dollars, just enough to get his eyes fixed.

Lilith drove wilbur to the hospital and wilbur got his new eyes. He could finally see after one year of being blind. He could finally see and was getting over his brother's death. Wilbur inherited Joey's house and belongings. He explored his new house and saw a room that caught his attention. It was a steel room with buttons all over the walls. Wilbur pressed each and every one until there was one left. He pressed and the floor opened. There was a staircase leading to two families tied up and gagged. One family consisted of a husband a wife and a girl that looked twenty five. The other family had a husband and a wife. They looked like they were starving. Wilbur then untied and ungagged them and gave them food and water. He asked them “Did joey do this to you?” “No.” one of the wifes said. “It was the president, not our son.” “Mom?” Wilbur asked “It's me Wilbur.” Then he realized “Two families? Both of my families?” Wilbur was glad that he still had a family. Wilbur was also enraged at the president and was going to kill him. The president should have been his final hit. Wilbur called Lilith and told her what they were going to do and said they needed two more partners and he knew where he could find one of them.

Lilith and Wilbur headed to the wastelands where one of the partners were. She was in a cave somewhere and they were going to find it. After driving two days they finally found it. It was a Big cave that was moist and had wet cardboard all over the ground. Wilbur entered the cave and saw her, Tiny Tina. Tina was the deadliest thirteen year old alive. Wilbur greeted her and Lilith walked into the cave. “Ok let's go but first i need you to meet my partners in crime, Mrs. Snugglenuggets and Princess Cuddles” Tina said pulling out two identical damp teddybears with giant missiles on the backs of them. “We need to get Frank, my BFF and our partner. He's on a train so we need to hijack it, and that's where my friends come in.” All three partners headed to the train tracks that went across a small ledge where the train would be coming any second. Tina set up the teddybears and started to count down. “TEN NINE EIGHT” “BOOM!” “sorry i got bored” Tina said. The tracks fell down and the train had just arrived. It slowed down and fell of the ledge hitting the ground. It was hanging off the tracks diagonally and the door had came off. A barred metal cage slid out and opened and a very big person came out. They had big bulky muscles and torn clothes.“There he is, my Bff, Mister Frank!” Tina Said. “Tina! I'm going to kill you! You give me up for your teddy bears?” Frank said in a threatening voice. “Hold on, hold on. I used my teddybears to blow you up to get you out of that train.” “Well that was a bad plan because now you don't even have them at all and you can't get them back because you blew them up!” He responded. “I knew i was doing something wrong. Well i'm sorry. Are we friends again?” Tina said sarcastically.

All four partners went to Wilbur's house to make a car that can get the mission done. It took them five months, but the car was finally done. It was a Truck with a turret where a sun roof would be and in the back of the truck was just a regular trunk. The truck was white with orange and black stripes. The tires could rotate and wings could come out of the doors and the truck could fly. The companions all set for adventure to terminate the president. When they arrived at the white house nothing was there. It was like the ground under it had torn out of the earth and floated away, which it did. Above the tear in the earth was the white house. The car had transformed into a plane and swiftly flew up. At the top there were giant psychos, like the kind Lilith dealt with. “Lilith do you know who put you in that cave?” Wilbur asked. Lilith replied “No but now I kinda think i know who did. Now all four of the partners had a reason to kill the president. When the truck arrived at the top, they all got out and started firing. They killed all of the guards and entered the presidents room. “I’ve been expecting you.” The President began. “Except not this early. So, try later.” A trapdoor opened and the four of the partners appeared back outside of the White House where a giant creature stood. It Looked like a bigger version of a giant psycho only with two heads, and it looked to be twenty feet tall. Wilbur fired his pistol, Lilith used her gas, Frank used his oversized hammer, and Tina threw teddybear bombs which she made. The psycho ran after Frank and hit him with its fists knocking Frank out. Tina threw a teddy bear at it and blew its leg off. The psycho fell down and started crawling towards Wilbur. He shot his pistol at its head killing it. “What did I miss?” Said Frank just waking up.

The four friends went back to the President's room and Wilbur opened the door and started firing. The bullets went into the president's bac. To make a long story short, the president died because of his injuries. “So what now?” Tina asked. “We move to a different country, since now we are wanted criminals. How about we move to Russia?” Wilbur replied. The whole team agreed and did exactly what Wilbur said, they moved to Russia. They all lived in a mansion together in Moscow. The mansion was two stories tall with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Wilbur, Lilith and Frank worked as government officials, and Tina...She just did whatever she wanted because she couldn't have a job at thirteen years old. The whole gang helped the people of Russia and became the most powerful crime stoppers in their country, and got more wealth every day. The End
