In the article that was assigned for us to read, Mr. Rowe states three problems. They are if pointless evils exist, then God does not exist, pointless evils do exist so therefore, God does not exist. I have an issue with him stating that because it makes absolutely no sense to me. How does Mr. Rowe come to these conclusions or these thoughts? How does evil exist if there is no God? Or how does believing in evil make it so hard for him not to believe in God?
I am not a religious person, and I don’t believe in all the stories that are written about in the Bible in regards to how life what started and what not, but I do believe that there is a higher being out there. Rowe mentioned in the article that I read on a natural tragedy. It was the case of the five-year-old little girl that was beaten to death her mother’s boyfriend. In the article, he said that it was a natural tragedy that occurred, like a natural disaster. In this case, I am not going to say that it was an evil act, I am going to say that it was an act done by a person that was needing mental health help. A grown person that would take it upon themselves to take out their anger on a defenseless child is not evil. In my eyes, it is a person that is needing mental health help. Many experience some serious issues growing up and that carries with them when they are adults. They don’t get the help they need due to affordability or cultural issues and it comes out in their adult years in the most incomprehensible
