Willpower: A Literary Analysis

Having a strong desire to live, willpower, is what Aron Ralston, Lee, and Rainsford all have. It's important that they have this because will power is the necessary trait to be a survivor.
The first survivor who clearly had willpower was Aron Ralston.For example on day one of being trapped, Ralston already starts working on getting out from under the rock as soon as soon as it landed on Ralston's arm.Ralston clearly has will power, instead of freaking over the rock and focusing on the pain, Ralston decides to forget about it and focus on trying to getting the rock off.On the sixth day, Ralston told the part of the story that featured the cutting off his own arm.Ralstons willpower to live is so strong he finally deciding to cut off his own
Rainsford was another survivor who had the trait of willpower.For example on page 19, once Rainsford went out into the woods to start the game, he told him self to stay calm and focused on making things hard for the general. He used his will to not get killed to help him survive the hunt.Another example on page 24, is when Rainsford swam back to the generals house after finally getting off the island.Rainsford knew that to survive the general had to go.
