Speculative fiction describes the fear that society had that could have potentially ruined the beautiful freedom we have to express our opinions, beliefs, and gender. During the late 1900s speculative fiction displayed the privileges of gender equality and freedom that we have today.
Paragraph 1: Advantages that women and men had during the late 20th century There was an increase of advantages for women over the course of the 20th century. When the government began to change, women were not allowed to work. This led to them to depend on their husbands or domestic partner. Similar to the life during most of the 20th century, women depended on their husband to be financially secure and the American family did not have to depend on two incomes to pay taxes and mortgage. Alongside this, both men and women were not allowed to be of a different sexual orientation and expected to be heterosexual. In 1969, there was a riot of gay, lesbian, and transvestites who fought for their equal liberation. This would spark the movement and spirit of gay expression and eventually lead to the development of the LGBT community.
