Some women do not want to start weight lifting because of the injuries they think might happen to them. Studies show that weight lifting can cause stress fractures, muscle soreness, and some strains to the body. There is one myth that can cause stress to women and make them not want to start any type of weight lifting. The myth is that by weight lifting, girls will turn out all bulky like a man, which is not true (Stephenson). The last disadvantage about weight lifting is that some girls are afraid to lift weights because they think boys will not like their masculine side. Most guys think when a woman lifts weights it can make her a lot more attractive, but other guys not so much. A lot of girls are scared to try new things because they are constantly caring what other people around them think or say and the women just do not want to be judged. A lot of boys think it is bad for a girl to become stronger than them, but it is a great accomplishment that shows their hard work and dedication
