When staff are noticeably unhappy it reflects onto their service users and I refuse to allow my service users to have the drama of the workplace affect their progress, as it may be a workplace to staff but to a service user it is their home and should provide sanctuary for them to rebuild their lives.

I have experienced management and leadership on both ends of the scale, I have had a manager who inspired me to identify and improve my weaknesses, encouraged my professional development and gave me the confidence to implement change in service delivery which resulted in a better quality of support being provided to my service users.
