Working in mines and factories were unsanitary for anyone to be working in because hygiene was not that important during the Industrial Revolution. Smoke would be everywhere surrounding the factories and not healthy for workers (Trinder 609). Factories were overcrowded with hard working people and families. There started to have too many employed workers. During the Industrial Revolution it did not matter how many hours you were working for it only mattered if you got all your stuff done. People with families were always busy during the day.
