In your group discuss the following situations and choose one to write a short role play to share with the rest of the class.
You are on playground duty when a little girl from class 4d runs up to you apparently very upset. She is trying to tell you about an argument that has developed between a group of children from her class over in the nature area. You clearly need to deal with this ~ on arrival at the ‘scene’ you observe that 5 children are involved, possibly a rubbish collection container and a litter-picker.
You are working as a Teaching Assistant in a high school supporting two particular learners in English and Maths lessons. Friday morning you arrive at the appropriate classroom a few minutes before the lesson starts. You immediately hear shouting coming from the room and observe that there are several students in the room and the teacher has not yet arrived. You also notice a ripped magazine thrown on the floor that may have something to do with the situation!
You are supporting a group of year 6 learners who are completing a practical task in science. They are separating materials such as sand, rice, small stones etc using a variety of equipment (funnels, sieves etc). You notice that one particular group seem to be working independently of each other and it isn’t really working. You need to help them to work together to achieve the objectives.
