“JA-ZENCHU (Central Union of Agricultural Co-operatives) is an apex body of Japan's agricultural co-operative movement, representing the interests of Japanese farmers and their agricultural co-operative organizations (JA Group).”
Several decades ago, Nokyo, which then became the JA, was organized in 1947 at the time of the land reform, had local branches in every rural village in the late 1980s. Its constituent local agricultural cooperatives included practically all of the population for which farming was the principal occupation. Since it was founded, Nokyo had been preoccupied with maintaining and increasing government price supports on rice and other crops. The Japan Agricultural Cooperatives (JA) Group was set up as an ordinary agricultural cooperative to sell products made by its members. Then it successfully replaced the process that the members selling on their own and provide production materials and agricultural chemicals to its member farming households. It also brings out a lot of jobs and employment for local residents.
For the past half century, the Japan Agricultural Cooperatives (JA) provide individuals with Farm Guidance, Better living guidance, credit business, Mutual insurance business, marketing business and supplying business.
Japan has perennial insect damage. JA has been to the fields to help farmers solve the problem that use the least amount of pesticides to kill pests. This is much better than China. Chinese farmers often use pesticides indiscriminately to kill pests because there is no guidance, so the safety and quality of agricultural products cannot be guaranteed. What's more, JA often helps farmers to know and use the latest experience about how best to improve the efficiency, which greatly improved the production.
In Japan, many banks do not give farmers small loans because they do not have enough credit. However, Japanese farmers often suffered natural disasters such as
