World Trade Center
The movie World Trade Center is about the second terrorist attack on the World Trade Center which occurred September 11, 2001. Over three thousand lives were lost along with first responders (fire, police, EMS, medical, military, etc.). The two tallest buildings, known as the twin towers and several other buildings were completely destroyed. This would become the second of its kind of attack in America’s history. The first occurred “Friday, February 26, 1993, when Middle Eastern terrorism had arrived on American soil—with a bang” (“FBI 100 First Strike”, 2008). Forrest Gump would have optimistically said, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get" (Zemeckis, 1994). One of the rescue workers commented on going into the scene, “God was using the cloud of debris, smoke and dust to shield what they were walking into.” This truly was the type of devastation that would be difficult to plan for, but in hind sight several steps of action could have been taken to at least minimize the damage. First Step would have been to equip a system where the fire sprinklers would have gone off at time of impact, as well as sound some type of sound system to communicate to the people in the buildings an attack had occurred. This building housed numerous key corporations and certainly after the attack from 1993 this should have been (SOP) Standard Operating Procedure. Step Two would have been to have counseled personnel in this building along with fire, police, medical, hospitals, etc. on what to do should another terrorist attack hit our country. Our television and radio stations should have an emergency system in place also. Step 3: Would be to have heavy equipment teams and personnel in place in New York and other major cities
