Arriving just two decades after the last world war, the Second World War was the most widespread and deadliest war in history. WWII involved more than 30 countries and resulted in more than 50 million military and civilian deaths. This Second World War was sparked by the invasion of Poland in 1939 by Adolf Hitler. WWII lasted for six long years until the allied forces of Germany and Japan were finally defeated. During World War Two the U.S. shut down all their car factories in order to turn them into war machine factories.…
World War Two was a “total war” lasting for six years. Most of the world’s nations were involved in this war. The United States was thrusted into the war on December 7, 1941 when Japan launched an attack on Pearl Harbor. The United States declared war on Germany and Japan. Although there were two opposing sides in the war everyone was subjected to the hellish conditions brought upon by both sides.William Tecumseh Sherman, a Union general in the Civil War had several quotes regarding the war. One of his quotes said “ War is hell” which is incredibly applicable when reading about the atrocities that occurred during World War Two.…
World War II was the deadly war in history because , It cost a lot money, damaged, killed more people than world war I, and caused more far-reaching changes than any other war in history. World War Two was a fight against evil, the totalitarian, racist, militaristic German state, headed by Adolf Hitler. “It was a war against an enemy of unspeakable evil” meaning it was so evil that there’s no word to describe it. How did the United States become involved in World War 2? reason why U.S. entered in WWII because it wanted to defend the principle of nonintervention in the affairs of other countries?.…
In the early 1920s, as World War I ended, nations looked for peace as an outlet and hope for the future. As time passed, most countries were happy that the Great War had ended, however they were upset with the outcome. Since there were many costly expenses from the war, it caused many of the hostile nations to look for strong rulers for change. This allowed many harsh dictators to rise to power. These dictators were aggressive rulers and took forceful actions. In order to combat these aggressive rulers, other nations tried to resist war and give in to their demands. This type of action was known as appeasement. Not all countries felt the same way about this response; other countries believed that a collective security would work better.…
The United States has actually not declared war since World War II. In Article I, section 8 of the U.S. Constitution, Congress has the power,"to declare war [and] grant letters of marque and reprisal."(archives.gov) But Article II,Section 2 provides that,"The president shall be Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States." (fed-soc.org) While it's clear that the intended action for Congress alone to declare war, presidents don’t necessarily act with them but rather on their own will and belief. Truth be told as well, many events were presidents acted on their own have occoured. For example, after President Harry Truman bypassed Congress to go to war in Korea, presidents have paid almost no attention to the constitutional requirements.…
World War II was by far the most destructive wars in the U.S. history. It impacted the United States socially, economically, and killed more people in any other war. World war II caused women to join the working force which was a huge step in women's rights and showed how huge the government's role was in this war was. The United States is one of the main reasons that the Allies won the war. At the end of World War I all of the blame was put onto Germany. Germany was given many restrictions and because of this Hitler started to rise. During World war II there was two major alliances: The Axis powers and The Allies. The Axis powers were: Germany, Japan, and . The Allies were: Great Britain, the United States, France(?) and the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union ended up joining…
When Germany invaded Poland in 1939, the United States knew that another World War was coming on. After World War I America decided that they did not want to be involved in another war due to the devastation that it had caused before. However President Franklin D. Roosevelt decided differently. With competing views among the isolationists and the interventionists, FDR concluded that the only way for the Great Depression to end was to become involved in another war. The Great Depression destroyed the economies of the United States and Europe. Economies were struggling worldwide and were running out of options. The outcome of World War I “led to a major repositioning of world power and influence.” This shift in power towards the United States laid the grounds for the emergence of totalitarian governments in Europe. Since World War I, the struggle for world power became a popular subject among governments. World War II exemplifies the power struggle among Germany, Italy, and Japan and also gave American political leaders such as Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry Truman the chance to prove their true leadership abilities domestically and internationally.…
World War II has been the deadliest, most devastating war throughout history. It involved more than 33 nations, and all of them were divided into two different groups: the Axis Powers and The Allies. Their goal was to win the war. America was one of the Allies, but at first it was under an isolationist policy. They finally decided to join the war when other nations started attacking.…

As everyone knows, the second World War was the most widespread and deadliest war in history. In my opinion, the biggest main events in World War II included: The Holocaust, Pearl Harbor, and D-Day. In this era of World War II, it lasted from 1933 to 1945. It involved six major continents, all three of the great oceans on the planet, scores of countries, and billions of people. It caused over 57 million deaths and unimaginable human suffering (“World War II”).…
Both deadly World Wars were both unjust. It ranged from World War I having disputes between all counties and sanctions to take place. In World War II is when peace is completely vanshined from exterminations of many Jews and the the Atomic bomb drop. Together, all this caused dictators to rise, low employment rates, etc. Once again, the United States was on the winning side of World War II because they had a great military and extraordinary production of weapons.…
The end of the First World War left those on both sides tired, bitter, and disillusioned with the war itself. For the Americans, who had no wish to go in the first place, the effect of the death toll would weigh heavily upon their souls. The German soldiers, on the other hand, were bitter and angry by the outcome of the war, feeling they were forced to surrender against their will by their government. These details will play a major role in the long road toward the Second World War.…
