Prussia was once a massive empire, it had a strong military, many different ethnic groups, and a bunch of different leaders, that made the empire better. I will talk about some of the different leaders of Prussia. I will also talk about some of the things that made the military so strong and feared. I will also talk about what happened when Germany and Prussia finally became one. Next I will talk about all of the problems that this new empire had because of religious, and cultural tensions. I will talk about what I would've done to help ease these problems also. I would do things such as making different churches that people could choose from, then I would make a punishment for fighting, and last I would make churches were people from different groups could become friends. Frederick I was one of the leaders of Prussia, he lived to be 55 years old. Fredrick William I was also one of the leaders of Prussia, he lived to be 51 year old. Frederick II was one of the leaders of Prussia also, he lived to be 74 years old. Frederick William II was another leader of Prussia, he lived to be 53 years old. This would've helped make sure that not as fights would happen. When people in your kingdom can never agree on what they want to do, you will always be a little bit weaker then if they agreed. I also would've made sure that people that helped me make decisions were from both groups, so that we could find a solution that would try to keep fighting down, If people kept on fighting, I would have to make the punishment more severe then it was before, just because your don't agree with someone on something doesn't mean you can disrupt peace by hurting them, or scaring little

To begin, Prussia was not only known for its strong military but also its political enhancement. People comment that "Prussia was an army before it was a nation." This is an example explaining how well thought and prepared they were military wise. Their leader, Frederick II, was known as a military genius which obviously contributes to their military success. Though, they weren't just known for being defense-ready. During the eighteenth century while Voltaire was alive and making valuable changes he improved laws, fostered industry, and helped to increase great nationalism. Socially, Prussia was weaker though it still had some education reforms and religious toleration during the seventeenth and eighteenth century. All of these reason contribute to Prussia's rise to Absolutism, especially because its military was unstoppable. The rise of Prussia between 1640 and 1786 occurred as a result of a combination of military, political, and Social Factors. War and the threat of war aided Frederick William and Frederick William I greatly in their attempts to build royal absolutism in Prussia. Due to the wartime atmosphere, Frederick William and Frederick William I were able to reduce the political power of the landlord nobility, and allow them to keep control over the peasantry. The landlords, satisfied with being unchallenged masters of their peasants, did not challenge the monarchs’ power, which ultimately led to the rise of Prussia. When Frederick William, of the Hohenzollern family, later known as the “Great Elector,” gained power in 1640, in Brandenburg, Prussia, and scattered land…

Through the Rise of Prussia, “the Great Elector and his descendants moved toward absolute monarchy” (Wallbank 1201). The Great Elector was Frederick William, whose son was Frederick I. The Prussian kings continued moving toward absolute monarchy in order to protect their land. Unlike the Prussians, William and Mary recognized Parliament as a partner in governing by agreeing to a constitutional monarchy (Wallbank). As a constitutional monarchy, the rulers were limited power by the laws. Together, William and Mary would govern England with Parliament. Overall, King Frederick I contrasted with William II and Mary II because Frederick was an absolute monarch, whereas William and Mary were constitutional monarchs, who ruled with…

Otto Van Bismarck began his reign when he was appointed as the prime minister of Prussia in 1862 by King William I. At this point in time, Prussia was in a mediocre state of power, considerably inferior in comparison to its other surrounding nations. In the beginning there were imperial electors that ran the estates of East Germany and Prussia. When Frederick William came into power as the “Great Elector”, he was able to heavily tax the germanic lands without the consent from the nobles. Taxation allowed for strong dominance over land-owning classes and more importantly, the peasantry. This brought together the Prussian cities and eliminated noble power, thus making Frederick William the absolute ruler. As soon as his son, Frederick William I, came into power, he made sure that all taxation funds were funneled into military power. He transformed Prussia into a disciplined, skilled, military state that would answer to him only through noble commanders. He forced the peasants to fight in the army, and when retired, to provide for the Prussian army and state the agricultural necessities to keep the country going. John McKay exclaims that “with all mean harnessed to the war machine, Prussian civil society became rigid and highly disciplined,” (482). Ultimately, Frederick William and his son were able to ensure a highly absolutist rule through the use of taxes and military motivation. Compared to the Austrian power, the Prussian Empire had a strong foundation of military skill and poise, and continued to push their peasants to the brinking point of…
