Introduction It is important that your organization has an objective and goals to achieve, when management organizes plans and implements specific projects there must be a suitable structure with a plan starting with project management which is the discipline of planning, organizing, motivating, and controlling resources to achieve specific goals. Herein I will explain the process of project planning compared to operations of an organization. Unlike other functions carried out in the daily operations of an organization, a project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result, further some specific characteristics that differentiate projects from other functions of an organization are identified by the length that it takes to complete the job or project. It is important to understand that A project is short lived, meaning that it must be finished within a certain time frame and fit within a specific budget while the organizational functions operate continuously and have the ability to continue throughout the lifetime or until the organization stops its operations all together. Five examples of work that is not considered to be a project are listed below, I have selected the below with the understanding that non project work is considered routine work.
1. Daily backup of the organizations database
2. Billing customers including the billing process
3. Property Management
4. Department Director
5. Cashier RUNNING HEAD Individual Assignment Page 3
