The Young Men’s Christian Association known as the YMCA or the Y for short is a charitable nonprofit consists of over 2,700 YMCA locations, 19,000 staff members, 600,000 volunteers 10,000 communities . The mission statement of the Y is “to put christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Stonestown Family YMCA was created in 1954 under the name Golden West YMCA, but then in 1976 changed to the current name. For the past 62 years, The Stonestown Family YMCA is committed to bring local communities together through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

City Sports Club is a gym located in behind the Stonestown Family YMCA. City Sports provides many features basketball, indoor pool, sauna, kids glib, group fitness classes, cycling, personal trainers, whirlpool spa, juice bar, and swim lessons. Many of these features can be found at the Y. City Sports starting rate to become a member is $34.99 a month plus an added $99 initiation fee. Although they have a large target market, it can be seen that there are more college students attending this gym than older adults. The Y’s demographics are a major help towards the organization, because they keep the word of mouth alive. Each of us have a network which can help bring new members. Especially parents, because they want what's best for their children. If their children have a good time at the Y there is a chance than in the future they will return to the Y in hopes to have the same satisfaction.
