Essay one: Yoga I have come to realize that most people who hear about yoga, automatically just think about how girly it is or just the obvious. Yes, it is just a lot of stretching, and yes flexibility plays a big part in it. It is not just about mastering all the different poses it is about finding the strength within the core. Yoga does not just stretch muscles. It also stretches all the ligaments, tendons and the soft tissue in the body. Yoga is also known to increasing range of motion and improving posture. It is one of the top ways to fix your stance. Yoga provides benefits that other exercises are unable to do such as, aches from arthritis and many other medical conditions.
Mentally, yoga helps the mind to focus on the body and be more aware of the surroundings, while the physical poses help to build strength, flexibility and balance. Yoga exercises strengthen your body, mind, and spirit. Yoga is one of the few workouts that is all-inclusive with exercise, meditation, and relaxation all in one. A few benefits yoga has are, better range of motion with joints, decreased anxiety, improved sleep and even weight loss. One type of yoga that is really popular is Bikram yoga, also known as “Hot Yoga”. Bikram yoga is practiced in a room where the temperature is anywhere from 105 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Many benefits are since it is so hot in the room; it is easier to burn more fat, as well as calories. Sweating profusely like that will force your body to detox its self, so that all the bad the we put into our body will be removed due to this type of yoga. Working out in a hot room allows our muscles to become almost elastic causing us to become more flexible. Most people do not know about the history of yoga and how it all started. Researchers believe that yoga first started around 3000 B.C, though many others still believe that yoga was being performed before then. India
