Introduction:
The following analysis is based on the attitude and behaviour of Alex Sander - newest and youngest product manager at LANDON. He had been very successful in the two product releases he has been in charge of. He is an extremely talented, hard working and dedicated individual and has been very effective. He is capable of delivering results but when it comes to team management he doesn’t seem to fit into the role. He seems to be lacking the ability to lead and direct his team to complete the work assigned to them His behaviour creates problems for the entire set of people who work around him. Sam Glass (his boss) has high regards for him and is earnestly interested in keeping him at Landon but at the same time also understands that Sander lacks leadership skills especially when it comes to people handling aspect. It has negative impact on the overall working environment and other employees, mainly people under his management. This case study provides important points that how emotions and soft skills or its dearth can affect motivation and leadership capabilities.
This situation could have been faced by any organisation. Thus, a solution should be thought of considering the scenario given above which would be effective and which creates a perfect working environment for one and all and at the same time can make best use of the Alex’s talent which will ensure success for the Sam’s product group. Also, understand if 360 degree feedback process is effective and if some changes can be made to make it more effective.
This issue came up due to the 360 degree feedback system so Sam needs to realize the effectiveness of the
