The movie follows the story of Miss Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, as they overcome first impressions, class and self knowledge. They are not born a great match, it is through their interactions and critiques of one another that they recognize their faults and work to accept and understand them.
The Bennet family is portrayed in the movie and the novel as the comic relief. In the film the mother, father, and the majority of the sisters are made out to be quirky, light hearted, and ridiculous. There are five bennet sisters in total with Elizabeth being the second, there is also Jane the eldest who is portrayed as the most beautiful and shy of the bunch, Mary the third sister who seems quite negative throughout the movie, Kitty is the second to youngest and is portrayed as a silly girl always following Lydia around. Lydia is the youngest and portrayed as the silliest of all the sisters and seems to be continuously throwing herself into the path of self ruin not realizing the consequences of her actions.
This adaptation far surpassed my expectations. It carries a realism keynote throughout the film in which you truly see the struggles each must face; including facing themselves, Yet also a theme of romanticism in which two people are
