The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the correlational method as a means for examining the relationship between REM sleep and memory. I will describe previous research and then investigate how REM and memory are associated in young people and in older people. In some ways, the sleep patterns of these two groups are very similar, but in some ways they are not. 1a) In a normal brain, the period of deep sleep is the first half of sleep and the period of REM sleep is the second half of sleep. The person would return back to the stages 3 and 2 and afterwards to the REM sleep for staying twenty minutes in a stage four. This is a cyclic process and stages repeat after every ninety minutes but the changes in the stages are going through the…

The word “mother” means everything to me. I remember when I was little I would always be with my mom and she would always take care of me when I got sick. She taught me how to speak, read, and write sentences; and also taught me how to be a good person. When I did something wrong, she explained to me why I can’t do that. When I have problems with friends in school and I did not know who to talk with, she was the one I could open up to and tell her how I felt. She told me how to solve these conflicts and pointed out how the conflicts started in the first place. Ever since I could remember, my mom is everything for me; doctor, teacher, friend, advisor, and many more.…

The word mother is a simple word but has many more different definitions. This could be the legal, social or traditional way of looking at a mother. A legal definition of a mother is such that as the legal dictionary 2012 states ‘a woman who has born a child is deemed a mother’. However this cannot always be the case for some women. Mothering. Mothering refers to a mother 's style of interaction with her child. A mother 's early interaction style has been related to a variety of outcomes, including the development of the mother-infant relationship, children 's prosocial behavior, and later behavioral problems. Specifically, mothers who were highly responsive and available to their children were more likely to have infants who developed more harmonious relationships with their mothers. Further, when mothers were more sensitive, their children were more empathic, more compliant with adults, and less likely to develop behavior problems (Sroufe & Fleeson, 1988).…

In the past, women are just at home, care for the children and do the household chores. Mother is often the first person to get up to prepare breakfast for her family, and also the last person to go to bed after doing all the housework. Nowadays, women have more opportunities to take part in working to earn money. They can become breadwinners like men, and they even can earn more money than men. In my opinion, the role of the mother in the family is very important. She gives birth to children, and teaches them how to become good people. She often stays up late to care for her children when they are ill. For me, mother is also the best friend . She can do everything to rear the children, but ask for nothing in…
