You, Anthony and I were in the cafeteria playing on our Ipads. Anthony took your phone off the table and handed it to me under the table. You saw it and took it back. Then Anthony made a gesture and it looked like he wanted me to grab it( I had no intentions of stealing it). so I did grab it and went to the locker room. I found a paper clip on the floor and picked it up and took the sim card out just in case it rang and I got a Jug. as I was going to put the sim card in the back of the case I saw you and Anthony and I got scared because Anthony popped up out of nowhere and I dropped the sim card. when you went back to the cafeteria you turned on the phone and it said "no service" so you checked the side of it (where the sim card slot is)…
It was Tuesday, March first, 2011, my mother woke me up so I can start getting ready for school. I rose with eager anticipation, just four more days until my thirteenth birthday and I just couldn’t wait. I brushed my teeth and hurried down to eat the complimentary breakfast offered to us by the hotel we were staying at. You see we had been staying at a hotel for the past five months because the home we had been renting was foreclosed on so the utility companies turned off the power and the electricity. We had to get down at just the right time so that there was a small crowd but a lot of food so that we can take food back to the room to save for dinner. After breakfast, we…
The day was sunny and warm. The children were playing soccer in the street. The lady was walking with her daughter. My sister was talking with her friends. My grandmother was cooking and the smell of rice made me hungry. I knew my day would be awesome.…
Dad woke me up to have breakfast and to get ready to open presents. We had the normal breakfast, and got ready for the day. I got five presents including my stocking. Mom got a glass butterfly wind chime, a magnet with a red panda, and a polar bear. And a key chain with her name on it that I got at the KC zoo gift shop. Dad got a mug, a pair of Bluetooth ear buds and a firefly edition of monopoly we stayed at home for a few hours then we went to grandma Judy’s house I got two pairs of jeans, a tablet stand, and $70…
It was a day like any other. I woke up, ate breakfast, went to the gym for a couple of hours to lift and exercise, then off to the car factory for work. I work six hours, then I go to the bar with my friends from work. Sam and Tyson were good buddies of mine. You ever seen Dumb and Dumber? Imagine them as bikers. Yup, that was my two friends. Nah, they were smart enough like me. We would always drink and crack jokes. Not today, though. As Sam was hitting on the bartender, my cell phone rang. I pulled it out of my jeans, told Sam and Tyson I’d be back, and went to the little hallway to the bathroom. I answered it.…
It was two in the morning. I got out of bed, running on three hours of sleep. I ran downstairs after getting ready for a long bus ride. I saw my mom and grandpa waiting downstairs, as my grandpa was going on the trip with me. When at the school, teachers checked our bags, kind of like the airport. After this check, we were off (well, about an hour later). Now it was off on our new home for the next 12 hours. For the first three hours, everyone slept. It was boring and I will skip that. We then pulled over for our breakfast stop. When we stopped, the teachers passed out our boxes of bagels. We proceeded to get back on the road next, which was a rather long time. About four hours of driving through Ohio farms and Pennsylvania hills,…
I believe the day was a Monday. Or a Tuesday. The tiny details are a bit fuzzy at the moment. Anyways, I woke up to the ringing of my phone.…
It was step-up day, and we were playing games on the field with the fourth/soon to be fifth graders. I saw my dad walking towards the field, and I knew it was time to get ready. I said goodbye to my friends and they wished me good luck. I was really excited to see my family coming in for the evening shabbat services. We headed up to the temple, and take some pictures with my grandparents and cousins. I greeted an endless amount of relatives, family friends, and people I have never met before. The service was beautiful, and the wine (grape juice for me) and challah were passed out. Dinner was served in an adjacent building where we visited with relatives from all over the country. First cousins, second cousins, third cousins twice removed, you name it. Uncles, aunts, great uncles and aunts and of course my grandparents all join us for a delicious dinner. We all talked and caught up, and it made me more comfortable to see that my family was there to support me, and I was excited for…
A fresh new day. I noticed my Uncle was nice a man, but Auntie was not at all. All I know is that she still cares about me. Also my life is not the same. Day after day, month after month pass, the days are almost the same. I wonder if Grandma will ever come see me again. Usually in the morning I eat buns/dumplings or rice. It was alright,…
It was awkward, but I had to explain why I couldn’t call them. But, they understood because they were only a couple years older than me. So when I went over their house, they wanted to turn on the tv, but I had to remind them and they were nice enough to do an activity that does not have to do with technology. We played Uno and a couple other card games. I got a snapchat text and I touched my phone and read the text, then without replying, I left my friend on reading and turned off my phone. I tried so hard to not touch my phone all day, then accidentally touched my phone towards the end. Towards bed time, I realized how in today’s society technology is so important to this generation. Even for me, it was hard to be away from my phone. This allowed me to be closer to my family and to enjoy life without technology. It allowed me to spend time with my family and have fun the real way. Real way as in not in technology fun. The message for this assignment was to let people know that there is a real world out there and it can change your experience without having technology near…
Today started like any other day. Mom came in and woke me up. I was still groggy like an old person waking up from a deep sleep. My mom laid out my clothes last night. She takes care of me like a king takes care of his people. I do not know what I would be without her.Once I got dressed and mom helped me put my shoes on. We walked downstairs and Lindsey and Shannon, my sisters, were getting ready for school. I walked downstairs to the first floor and saw my dad leaving. I ran to him to give him a good bye hug. Then I had breakfast. I am pretty sure that it was scrambled eggs with ketchup. My life is as hectic as an exterminator during an infestation. Or so I thought.…
Today I was very exhausted and excited. I woke up at 6:00am when the bright, morning sun streamed through my window. I jumped out of bed because I have to go to tutor time at school to finish some work and get some help from my teachers. But my math teacher was not there so i went to the library instead to finish my LA homework.…
I was really happy this one day. I was able to hang out with my best friend and it was the first time I got to see some of my old friends. The school day had gone by really well. COlor guard practice was really fun. When I was about go to sleep. I got a notification, my dad had saw my lock screen. The lock screen had been a picture of my best friend,…
I woke up to my alarm beeping. I was anxious to get headed up to Michigan Tech for the week. I woke up my mom and then she drove me to Masyn's house. Once we got there I loaded my stuff up into Masyn's car and then we were on our way.…
On May 27, 2011, I came to know of a lesson that was indeed learned the hard way. I was asked to leave my home and never return. This day was and still is the hardest day I have ever come to know. It was emotional and most of all, it opened my eyes to a world that I had not yet known.…
