A What Does Academic Integrity Mean to You?
aWhat does academic integrity mean to you?
It means learning and studying by not cheating, lying, or copying other peoples work. Also one must be fair by giving credit when using resources. By doing this, everyone will have respect for one another and for the university. It is the fundamental of which the college is built on.
Why do you think it is important for a university to maintain high standards when it comes to academic integrity? It is very important for a university to set the bar high academically. When a university has high expectations, the faculty and the student body will receive a higher education to be proud of. They learn by being honest, fair, and even responsible. Also when a student writes a paper they also learn to give credit, when using someone else’s ideas or even statements. I know that by attending this university, I will be receiving a higher education.
Would you want to attend a university that does not have these standards? Explain? I diffentaly would not want to attend a college that was not able to hold high standards, or have any academic integrity. IF a college has no academic integrity, then they have no desire to help the faculty or the student body to learn and be successful in life. I wouldn’t get the higher level education, which I am looking for in a university; also there would not be any type of commitment to learning at a higher level. I much rather earn my degree open and honestly. I much rather attend a university that can make me a confident and also a competent person. I am proud to be part of the Ashford University, because of my commitment to

In the article, “Are Colleges Worth the Price of Admission?” by Andrew Hacker and Claudia Dreifus, the authors did research on several colleges around the country to see whether our investment on higher education is really worth the money that we pay for it. The authors believe that universities are the ones responsible for the doubling of tuition costs compared to what they used to be , and not fulfilling the most important objective to student’s which is: “to challenge the minds of young people” (180). In the article, Hacker and Dreifus outline some things they think would help improve some of the problems in the college system and a few universities that they like, and tell us why these schools have won their favor. Being an incoming freshman at Grambling State University, I’ve been able to see some of the issues universities can have from budget cuts, to problems with the G-men football team.…

It also provides for the adjudication of policy infringements and associated academic consequences for nonadherence. Additionally, ethics and integrity are stressed in the policy as faculty and students are encouraged to “foster a strong institutional culture of academic integrity.” To find out if and why students are behaving in accordance with the academic integrity policy, a survey was administered. The data gathered from the survey indicated that students’ reasons for following the policy depended on their morals. Rutgers university…

    Aggie Code Of Honor

One thing that I greatly appreciated, when I was deciding which univeristy to attend, was how well Texas A&M expressed the Aggie Code of Honor. "Aggies do not lie, cheat, or steal or tolerate those who do." A very simple saying, but one that is heard and seen all around campus. It is tied to the university as much as the word "Howdy". It is great that this motto of academic integrity is already stiched to Texas A&M because its easier for professors and the university to promote academic integrity. Professors and the university need to continue to explicitly preach the Aggie Code of Honor throughout the semester as a reminder for students. Also one thing that students are not knowlegeable of are the consequences of acting acadebmically dishonest.…
