1.2 Explain the purpose of planning work, and being accountable to others for own work
• Planning work can ensure that you complete work by set deadlines. Being accountable to others for your own work is important because the work you complete may need to be passed on to be used to complete another task.
1.3 Explain the purpose and benefits of agreeing realistic targets for work
• Setting realistic targets for work, allows you to not take on too much work and then be unable to complete it on time.
1.4 Explain how to agree realistic targets
• You judge how long a certain task will take you, and then prioritize it around our other work and responsibilities.
1.5 Describe ways of planning work to meet agreed deadlines
• To make a mental note to do a certain task, within a set time and then move on to something different. And continue with the original task at a later time.
• To write it down (in a planner), helping you to organise your time effectively and be able to prioritize tasks.
1.6 Explain the purpose of keeping other people informed about progress
• So that others can prioritise and plan their workload around you. Others may be dependent on the task you are completing in order to complete a different task. So by informing others about your progress you can be aware of when your deadline for completion is.
• If you are unable to complete it on time, others could reprioritise their others tasks in order to give you more time to complete it, or they may offer to let you delegate some of the work that needs to be completed so that you have less to do and can then complete the task on time.
