Choose a Topic from Your Personal Knowledge and Experience Essay Example
My whole wedding planning experience and the day I got married July 4, 2008 are the most memorable days of my life. The reason for choosing July 4 was because that was the day we became girlfriend and boyfriend. I realized it was time to get married after observing my boyfriend and getting to know him better, I decided he was the one with whom I wanted to share the rest of my life with. It was during the month of March when we picked out our wedding date. I noticed the time was nearing so quickly.
Finally time to start planning. First I made an appointment with David’s Bridal to try on wedding dresses. One day while my husband was out working my best friend offered to take me. I then looked through a catalog and marked my favorite dresses. I am a very picky person. So I wanted my wedding dress to be the perfect one. I like to take my time in order to make a good decision. The Lady who brought out the dresses wasn't helping much. It seems like she really didn’t care and I could walk out with any dress as long as she made a sale. I really liked one dress a lot. But it was time to go my appointment was over. I still wanted to try on more dresses just in case there was another dress way over the top beautiful. The lady said if I wanted to try on more dresses I should make another appointment. I finally left with a dress in mind.
My next plan was to decide on where I wanted to get married. I began to do some local research on the Internet. I wrote down numbers and called. They were either all booked out or closed on July 4. I finally got too frustrated that I was thinking about canceling all my plans for a wedding and take a trip to the courthouse instead. No hassles and stress free is the way to be. I still wanted a wedding dress even to get married at the courthouse. I still wanted something special for us even though it was going to be the two of us.
A few months went by getting closer to the date. One day my husband and I were taking care of errands when we pass

I arrived to a church crowded with friends and family. So many people had gone to St. John’s Cathedral to witness the simple, yet elegant, tradition. There were also relatives from Mexico and Puerto Rico who took the long tiring trip to attend. I was honored to see so many people there on my special day. My court of honor led the way into the church. When it was my turn to walk down the aisle, soft music was played by the organist. I felt like a princess walking in my big, beautiful ball gown. My gown was similar to a wedding dress except it was a pastel pink. When the ceremony started it was nerve racking. I was thinking about my hair and people staring at me from behind, and hoping my tiara or…

It was only this morning when mother came in and asked me the most random question ever. She asked me if I've ever thought about marriage but to be honest, I have never in my life even thought about it since I'm only thirteen. Thirteen may sound like a very young age however, it’s rather normal for someone my age to get married and even have children. Mother asked me that question simply because the ‘valiant’ Count Paris has taken interest in me. I'm not sure if I should feel happy or not but I promised my mother that I would attend the masquerade our family have organised later today to interact with Paris even though I didn’t really want to because I just can’t disobey the people who I most respect, my mother and father.…

Just as we were very attached to each other, he had to leave to California, for work and that was two weeks before my birthday, I was devasted and sad because I thought he wasn't going to spend my birthday with me. I didn't want to let him go, not that i didn't want to be with him all the time but I was five and a half months pregnant with my second and his first child, and had that strong attachment to him. One thing that helped us cope with being so far apart from one another and that was our second baby's first ultrasound appointment. That's when we seen the little bundle of joy for the first time and found out what we were having. Within twenty minutes of the ultrasound the doctor pronounced that we were having a little baby girl. The expression on his face showed complete happiness and seeing that made my life so much better because not every young man expresses such an emotion. After we were finished at the hospital we went home and announced it to everybody. Both of our family were ecstatic and excited to be blessed with another beautiful being.…

Time, said to be eternal, possess neither a beginning nor an end. Yet however there is a fixation on being able to measure it in years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds. Trying to save time with new technology, manage time with multi-tasking activities. All in the hopes of giving meanings to the past, present and future. The past is able to been seen but not changed, today is in the present yet still unpredictable, and tomorrow is not guaranteed. If I Could Tell You by W. H. Auden is a villanelle much like others using rhyme, repetition, and meter, that revolve around the main idea of the continuity time and its unforeseeable nature.…

This personal model of counseling addresses the importance of developing a biblical theory of Christian Counseling, which also integrates psychology, theology and spirituality, without diminishing the relevance of each. This paper will discuss the personality traits, external influences that build a personal integrative theory of scientific disciplines and theological truths. The works of relevant theorists and authors will be reviewed as comparable viewpoints on Christian Counseling and how integration can benefit individuals, couples and families.…

My writing process usually begins the day I find out I have a writing assignment. Depending on the type of paper and topic, I read through the material and let my mind brainstorm on it for a day or so. For example, I had a psychology research paper due last semester with a multitude of topics to choose from. The first thing I did was read through the topics and make sure I fully understood what each one meant. After a day to mull over my options, I made my choice and began creating my writing plan.…

Immediately, when I turned sixteen I woke up in the morning and saw a pair of shinny silver keys sitting on my desk. I jumped up with excitement and rushed out the door wearing only my boxers, with the keys dangling in my hand. There it was: my brand new GMC Envoy, dark hunter green with a wax that could blind you. I stared at the car with excitement and admiration; it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, and it was mine. I took it for a test drive around the block and opened it up on the highway only three blocks from my house. It had a V8 under the hood, black leather seats, a Bose sound system and enough horsepower to tow anything I desired. After my first test drive around the neighborhood, I picked up the phone and called my friends. I couldn't wait to show off my new car. With a quick thank you and a hug for my parents, I sprinted out the door. Hearing a faint be careful from my mom in the background, I slammed the front door and raced to my car.…

Throughout life I have had many memorable events. The memorable times in my life vary from being the worst times in my life and some being the best, either way they have become milestones that will be remembered forever. The best day of my life was definitely the day that I received my drivers' license. This day is one of the most memorable because of the feelings I had when I received it, the opportunities that were opened up for me and the long lasting benefits that I received from it that still exist today.…

I was thinking about everything that happened last year and I thought about when my sister got married. I personally hated her fiancé; well actually I've always loathed that word fiancé. It makes me think of size eight posh spice look-alikes and huge diamond rings worth more than a small country. Courtney planned everything; she made me go over her hair do plans for me, my mother and the twenty-six bridesmaids! I remember in the car on the way home she planned the eight-layer cake and a full lilac colour scheme. The word boring came to mind when I started to drift into la la land. By the time I came back to the real world, Courtney had worked out all the hymns, seating arrangements and decided that she wanted pink sweets to be handed round for the guests to choke on. My sisters wedding had taken over eighteen months to plan, which made me think of what my wedding would be like or if I would remain permanently single.…

    Advantage Young Marriage

I have a confession to make: I look at wedding dresses online. A lot. I'm not in the market, but I just really enjoy virtually browsing through the gowns and imagining what I would look like in them. I'm guilty of doing the same with engagement rings, though only a handful of times. Again, not in the market. And I'd be lying if I said I've never put any thought into what song I want to use for my first dance. To anyone who doesn't know me well (or has looked over my shoulder while I'm at work browsing Gilt Bridal), I probably seem like the kind of girl who's dying to get married. But actually, if Kris, my boyfriend of nearly four years, proposed tomorrow, I'd say no. Not because I don't love him. I do. And not because I can't imagine spending the rest of my life with him. I can. And not because I'm morally opposed to marriage or anything. I'm not. I just happen to think 27, my current age, is too young to say I do. Which is why I love that the most famous bride of the year— and probably the century—was almost 30 when she walked down the aisle. Frankly, I've gotten sick of hearing everyone get all excited about celebs in their early twenties (Avril Lavigne, Kate Hudson, Heidi Montag, the list goes on...) tying the knot. And I always feel like a cynical, jealous bitch when I say things like, "Sheesh, what's the rush?" or "That's not gonna last" or "Heidi, what the hell did you do to your face?" Oh wait, that last one had nothing to do with getting married young. But watching Kate walk down the aisle, I wasn't grumbling about anything. I was giving her props. She was making it cool to get married at 29. Let me be clear. I don't think 27 is too young for all people and that every single…
