Is coffee the best source of energy?
Whenever the average American wakes up in the morning to go to work, what is the most popular drink he or she gets to gain their energy? It’s coffee and, according to the Wikipedia, 54% of Americans over the age of 18 drinks coffee every day. But is it really the best source of energy? Is coffee healthy? There may be some unhealthy facts about coffee that you don’t know about. It seems like the worst thing about drinking coffee is that you lose your dependence. When most coffee drinkers get up in the morning, it’s like they need their “fix” in order to be focused. Similar to a drug habit, the more a person drinks coffee, the more it seems like that person can’t function without it. Even though occasional use some legal drugs may cause no harm, but someone gets in the habit and is addicted to it, it may cause significant risk. The main reason coffee is so addictive is because of the large amount of caffeine, a mild central nervous system stimulant, and it produces dependence. But there is no need to worry if someone wants to break the coffee habit because it is easier to quit drinking coffee then other addictive drugs. But similar to other addictive drugs when it comes to quitting, it can cause biological signs of withdrawal such as headaches, exhaustion, loss of appetite, etc. According to the public, drinking coffee should give energy to stay focused throughout the day. But in reality it doesn’t. Coffee contains a large amount of caffeine, and it’s pretty obvious that if people drink it right before they go to bed, that they will difficulty have falling asleep. But studies also shown that drinking coffee in general can cause sleep to be difficult, more interrupted and less restful, and the person is more tired in the morning.
