Health-care professional and the place they work are responsible to be familiar with the signs and symptoms of burnout and compassion fatigue because people in health care role are at a higher risk. The five major concepts of compassion fatigue are cognitive, emotional, behavioral, spiritual, and somatic. The warning signs to be aware of for each of the concepts are described below.
Cognitive is a major concept of compassion fatigue. One will also experience a decrease in self-esteem and self-worth ( ).
