Debate Paper: Legalizing Same-Sex Marriage
“The gay marriage debate is a gay rights issue because preventing gay people from marrying sets them aside from mainstream society. Refusing to allow gay couples the right to marry is an acknowledgement that gay couples are not in the same sort of relationships as heterosexual couples, and gives a message that gays and lesbians are not capable of forming a regular family unit” (www.gaymarriage.lifetips.com). In this paper, information regarding the content against gay marriage, including religious views, health concerns, and traditional marriage views and its potential moral and legal issues. Opposing Views for Same-Sex Marriage Same-sex marriage is not a traditional setting for family life. Seeing two people of the same sex showing affection and love towards one another is not something that the world is ready to accept as normal.
