My project was constructed by using simple materials that could be found around the house and were transformed into a protective device for two Grade A Large Eggs. The materials of my project are cardboard, tape and a hot glue gun. I used a cardboard box whose flaps folded in over top, but taped open the flaps so that the height would meet the 20 cm minimum requirement. I made sure the width was less than 50 cm so that the bumpers would not exceed the maximum. I then cut pieces of cardboard equal to the length of the long and short sides of the box. I loosely rolled each piece of cardboard and taped them so that they would not roll open. Next, on the long sides of the box I taped the rolls of cardboard to the box horizontally and on the short sides I taped them vertically. I applied a lot of tape to make sure they would be held in place during the crashes. To keep the eggs from rolling around the big box, I secured them in two smaller boxes. I secured the eggs in the smaller boxes by rolling a piece of cardboard about an inch in width around the egg to create a holder. The egg can easily slide in out of the holder, but not easily enough to fall out once a force is applied. I taped the holder to smaller squares of cardboard and taped them down to the bottom of the smaller box. Each small box had the same construction. Finally, to secure the smaller boxes in the big box, I hot glued them down in the center of the box.…
Kinetic energy is when the object, the egg in this case, is in motion. On the other hand potential energy is when the object, again the egg in this case, Potential energy is the stored energy of an object, such as gravitational potential energy which depends on the mass and the height the object is at. In the egg drop we were hoping that the Eggpollo 6 would absorb the energy of impact, which would transfer the energy away from the egg and cause the Eggpollo 6 to protect the egg from breaking. The straws helped absorb the impact by bending. The toothpicks helped absorb the impact by stopping the straws from bending too much stopping the Eggpollo 6 from compressing too much. If I could do the drop again I would make the project as bare as possible for the mass requirement. But not so bare that there is almost no protection. I would put an egg in a small chamber just big enough for the egg to fit in made of straws and toothpicks in the straws hot glued the openings on both side of the straws then at one end of the chamber put straws on the sides going out at as close you can get to a 45° angle. First we picked our task as feed the money pig, and decided on our group name as Oink! Oink! Then we brainstormed our ideas and wrote them down. We then wrote our detailed description of our steps from start to finish. Then we completed our materials list to know the materials we got from the teacher and the materials that we would have to bring in. We also completed a list of dates of our project completion goals and testing. Next we began building our Rube Goldberg project. We all bought in the materials we needed for our project along with the ones we got from our teacher. For our first step we set up a small table up on a larger one. Then we taped a Twix box with marble at the top to the small table; we then taped a toilet paper roll to it and used it as a inclined plane. We set ten dominios under it on the table and put a marble at the end of them for our next step. In next step we taped a funnel at the end of the table and set up a mousetrap under the funnel. In our next step we tied a string to the mousetrap and tied the other end to a popsicle stick. We then put the stick on a toilet paper roll, that we used as an inclined plane, and put a golf ball and two marbles at the top of the stick. In our next step we set up another smaller table with two books on it, which were used as tracks for two balls that hit each other. Then we set up playing cards and Jenga blocks to make a track for the ball that falls off the table in our next step. Then in our next step we tied a Jenga block to beads that fall off the larger table. Next we set up a Coke can on a piece of wood used as an inclined plane. Team number three, consisting of Trenton Peters, Brett Halleen, Thomas Monroe, and Grant Dahlgren are building an edible car named “Meals on Wheels.” The problem statement that we are trying to solve is “Build a car that meets all criteria for the edible car challenge, and preforms to the best performance we can make it.” To start off, our vehicle was composed of cheese wheels, pretzel axles and a graham cracker body, with an apple slice in the front to add the element of there being a cockpit in the front of the vehicle, and marshmallow was used to hold all of the pieces together. However, the vehicles performance was less than expected, and didn’t do well on the scale Appendix A.2 of the text book, receiving an estimated 28pts out of 50pts.…
In Part A, a vehicle was created. The vehicle used gears and two wheel and axles. The gears turned as the front wheels rotated. The axles ran through the width of the vehicle, and the wheels connected to the axle on either side of the vehicle. * Our first model was just two sponges keeping the eggs safe but many students did that idea and so the Mr. Felix will deduct our points. Then we change to one sponge and straws creating a dome shape around the sponge to keep the egg safe. At the day before the real fall we tested it out in school on Sunday and it worked. On the real fall we broke our egg because we used the two eggs for our first model and second model so it broke on its third time of the fall. In March of 2012 an ingénues comedy show aired for the first time. That show was miraculously called Duck Dynasty. This showed opened the eyes of America proclaiming that a show can have clean humor and support family love and still be a good show! Down in the South, people “ate it up” because it was a very comical, clean. Christian based show. But what should we call such a show like this one? “Reality series? Sitcom? Religious Television? Anthropological study?” Well according to Mr. Richard Lindsay,” Duck Dynasty is all of these.” I strongly believe that after this one show has aired that it set high standards of what new upcoming shows should try to reach. This one show s the media and public eye that a show doesn’t have to have half naked women, alcohol, drugs, or even sinful drama for a television show to be “Off the Chart” good! So other than clean Comedy what else are you getting from Duck Dynasty? Well you get to see what Christ can do in a family. People are exposed to the love the Robertson family has toward one another even when they disagree on things and see things in different ways, Alan noted. The activity helped the children to investigate because they had never seen a reaction before and they were interested about what was going to happen. The children had a hand on approach by putting the vinegar into the milk; they also smelt the vinegar beforehand. To make the plastic colourful, I got the children to add glitter and food colouring. After I mixed together all of the components as the milk was hot the plastic was formed, after draining the rest of the milk that hadn’t solidified I showed the children, I asked them if they could tell me what had happened to the milk and one of the children said it changed colour and another said it turned hard. I thought this was pretty good as it is started to help the children understand solid and liquid as they knew a solid was hard.…
This egg drop experiment forced me to think and develop a design that I felt confident with. I developed several models and tested them numerous times, but could not settle on one. Eventually, I was able to put an addition onto one of my designs which gave me confidence in its ability to protect that precious egg. I will explain why my design worked so well in respect to impulse, air resistance, and stability.…

Our team was very effective because we had good listeners, people within the group would listen to small ideas and elaborate on it as a group, for example Fauzyia said we should try finish before the allocated time so we get enough time to prepare the egg for the challenge, we did do that and Khaver added to it by saying we should dropped it from estimated 3 feet to know whether the egg will deviate in the air and land on the right side. This made our group more successful as it helped us in the challenge because we had a rough idea about how the egg will land on the ground. This enabled us to prepare the egg better and make the landing side of the egg much stronger in order to prevent the egg from cracking. As a result of good listeners we were successful because the egg failed to crack when it hit the ground from 8 feet.…
