Global warming is a term used to refer to the phenomenon of the increase in global average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and the ocean due to the depletion of the ozone layer.
Describe briefly the theory behind man-caused global warming. Include a list of some of the gases that are believed to contribute to global warming.
The emission of carbon dioxide (CO2), mainly from industries has increased significantly. The atmospheric concentration of this gas and its properties traps the heat and causing the temperature to increase.
There are other gases that have these properties, such as, methane, nitrous oxide, water vapor. They are called "greenhouse", but global warming theorists believes is mainly CO2.
2. What are the causes of increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere?
The release of carbon into the atmosphere by burning fuels such coal, natural gas and oil for the use on transport and electricity, the rapidly increase in population , deforestation of the trees, farmers practices which increase the levels of methane and nitrous oxide
3. What country do you think is the largest contributor to global warming?
From http://www.ucsusa.org/global_warming/science_and_impacts/science/each-countrys-share-of-co2.html
China, U.S.A (the most per capita)., Russia, India and Japan.
4. What types of industries emit the most greenhouse gases?
According to this article http://www.gcrio.org/CONSEQUENCES/vol5no1/beyond.html
The main threat of long-term greenhouse warming is from the burning of the world's coal reserves for heat and electric power generation.
5. What is the evidence that global warming is a real process caused by humans and occurring right now?
Rise in sea levels worldwide, stronger storms, Massive crop failures, extinction of some species and the disappearance of coral reef.
6. What is the evidence that global warming is either not occurring or is not caused by humans?
There are blogs or
