Is the author happy or unhappy with his/her experience in America? The author is unhappy because he is not being treated the same as others The author is happy because she’s having a good life in America
Explain one experience the author had that reflects his/her view of America. He tells us about his struggle on his love life, he cannot bring his wife from china nor marry an American women .Also how the rest of the cultures are treated much nicer than the Chinese. Mary tells us about how everything was free for her, and how she was treated the same.

How do the three writers differ in their attitude toward immigrants?
All three writers have different attitudes toward immigrants. Mary Antin and Emma Lazarus have a more positive attitude while Lee has a more negative one due to his experience. Mary Antin’s journal excerpt was about her experience of immigrating to America with her family and how great life for them was there. Lee Chew wrote about how bad the Chinese were treated in the U.S. He wasn’t happy with this therefore his attitude wasn’t so great.
Do you think the ideas of Americans today regarding immigrants are different or similar to the ideas expressed on the base of the Statue of Liberty? If so, how?
I do not think the ideas of Americans today regarding to immigrants are different to the ideas expressed on the base of the Statue of Liberty. I think what has really changed is the attitude towards the immigrants cultures. There is one difference though, Immigrants back then were more legal immigrants they
