Currently solar energy does not have the same subsidies as fossil fuels. Fossil fuels subsidies are $72 billion and solar energy subsidies are only $1 billion so the majority of the money goes towards fossil fuels. Solar energy having the same profits as fossil fuels is better for everyone. It would improve the overall health of the planet, it would be cheaper and create jobs. As well, solar energy is a renewables power source unlike fossil fuel.

Solar energy is better for everyone because it is not a depletable source unlike Fossel fuels. "Over 60% of electricity in the US is created by the burning of coal, an energy source that will enter a terminal production decline and just 20 years. "Solar energy has the benefit of being a renewable source this means that there is no possibility of us to depleting it. if we don't switch to renewable power source the prices will continue to rise and eventually the the source will run out.

The fact that solar energy is not depletable is not the only advantage, it is also cheaper if everyone uses it and creates jobs. Currently important to send of the US it is cheaper to use solar power but of solar power had the same subsidies of fossil fuels it would be cheaper and all of the US. Therefore solar power had the same amount of profits it would be cheaper for everyone it would also create jobs in repair, construction, science, technology, installation, etc.

Although solar power is cheaper it is also good for the environment. Fossil fuels is a dirty source and will eventually run out but solar energy is clean and limitless. This makes it better for the environment. It's solar energy had the same subsidies

In our opinion, installing solar panels in the Mojave Desert is ultimately good despite the negative consequences because it’s a free source of energy that can also produce millions of gallons of drinkable water for people who struggle to find clean water every day. The cost is high to install solar panels, but it would eventually pay off down the road and could potentially provide our nation with tons of money that we could save from using non-renewable sources.…

There has been debating among people in the United States on how the best energy supply. Some people suggests that the United States should in fact decrease its dependency on oil and begin to invest in an alternative energy source like renewable energy, such as wind and solar power – Go green. Others have contended saying that converting over to a new power source would not only be expensive but it is unnecessary because the United Sates already has a sustainable energy source, we just have to search for the resources in unexplored areas within the country and Alaska and the Gulf Coast. Personally, I side with the individuals that agree that the United States invest in an alternative energy source. Renewable energy is already being practiced in some areas of the United States and it has been proven to be more cost effective and healthier for the environment.…

Photovoltaic solar power systems are environmentally beneficial because they release no harmful pollutants or emissions such as CO2. These systems operate throughout the day, implying it is sunny, and do not rely greatly on other power sources to operate, thus there is less of a toll on the environment in terms of external resource usage. An environmental cost of photovoltaic systems is the manufacturing of these systems that uses energy and could possibly contribute to more atmospheric pollution, such as installation that can be damaging to the surface of our envirionment.…

Availability of fossil fuels is a considerable factor when dealing with various energy sources. Coal is non-renewable and it is estimated that at least 40% of the world’s electricity comes from coal, and in 2005 Coal power produced 49.7% of the United State’s electricity supply. The consumption of coal is expected to increase 71% between 2004 and 2030, highly motivated by developing countries that use coal to generate about 75% of their power. There are limited stocks of coal remaining, they will be entirely depleted this millennium if we continue to burn coal in the future at the same rate we are today. Solar energy, on the other hand requires the use of the sun which is renewable and will potentially never run out regardless of how much it is used. Therefore, solar energy seems to be the better choice.…

Furthermore, renewable energy is a very niche market. It makes up only 8% of the total energy industry. SolarWorld’s practice, active solar technology, occupies just 1% of the total renewable energy due to its high cost and capital investment. This leaves a big hole for threat of substitutes such as coal, nuclear or natural gas energy, which are mostly the primary choice before renewable energy.…

It’s better in ways stated above. The big drawback is the cost of producing such technology. We haven’t perfected yet so we can’t produce them at a economical cost. Informing the people could push for this change. I, for one, didn’t know of the existence of solar homes until very recently. People could go through their entire lives without the knowledge of solar homes. This, of course, has led to a low demand for solar-passive homes which is why the housing market has yet to tunnel more funds in researching such homes. With the support of the people, more superior technological advances could be…

It’s no secret that fossil fuels are rapidly depleting. What is not so well known is that Generation Y (my generation) is going to be around to see it. That is why immediate action to incorporation renewable energy sources is crucial. Specifically, the government should stop giving subsidies to oil companies and instead be using taxpayers’ money to develop solar energy, such as, solar thermal energy in order to establish a sustainable, clean, responsible and efficient form for energy for generations to come. While solar energy startup and even maintenance costs can be just as expensive as oil and coal production, solar energy is undoubtedly worth the price in the long run, even solely for the benefit of CO2 reduction. As far as using solar thermal energy locally, my hometown of Bloomington, Indiana currently uses solar thermal energy for various residential and commercial uses, but there is much room for expansion. Finally, I am a firm believer that helping the world consequently helps us in return and I believe that eventually, tax payers’ dollars could even be used to install solar energy devices in LDCs to ultimately better the world we all live in.…

After reading this article about economics and renewable energy, I have follow comment. First, using renewable energy is an irresistible general trend. According to the Anna Leidreiter, we can see that using renewable energy can substitute for fossil fuel in the Denmark and Germany. Using renewable energy not only can increase the opportunity of jobs, but also can help the economics stable. However, I think we should not just look to the money. In order to maintain a clean environment to our offspring, we should lay stress on environment protection; one of the things we can do is using renewable energy.…
