I'm Really In Love This Time Mom...
I’m Really in Love This Time Mom…
I don’t know if this is going to be it for me, but it sure feels like it. I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. Every time I see him, I get butterflies…
I met Amiri on twitter about nine months ago. From the beginning I could feel a special connection between us. We began dating June 10th, 2013, a day I will never forget. We spent that entire summer together. Every day was like an adventure. My mother thought it was just a summer love thing, but it’s way more than that. Though our relationship is long distance, he lives in Atlanta, we still manage to maintain it with no problem. We talk 24/7 whether it’s through texting, talking on the phone, or Face Timing. He also comes and visits me often, and we’re never apart for more than five weeks at a time. Every reunion with him is euphoric, and I just feel like I’ve fallen in love all over again. We’re so close I feel as if he is more than just a boyfriend but also my best friend. I trust him with all my heart. I know I can tell him anything and he’d protect any secret of mine. He’s always there when I need someone to talk to or complain to about my mom, and of course a shoulder to cry on. He knows me better than anyone and I just find it so amazing that in just 8 months he has the ability to do that. Having him in my life is definitely a blessing. I feel like he was put on this Earth just for me and me for him. I know no relationship is perfect and of course we have some bad times when the long distance just becomes too much, but the good outweighs the bad by a billion. I love Amiri so much, we are one. I hope we can maintain our relationship and I never lose him. I can picture us being together forever. I’ m really in love this time.

While Amir found himself falling for a beautiful woman named Soraya, as well focused on Baba’s health. The people and environment someone surrounds themselves affect a person greatly. For instance, when someone is a part of a friend group that they are around with constantly, they start to pick up on small things that person does and slowly they become like their friends. So in the same way, when the two of them hurt Hassan, they were both unable to look at him without feeling that guilt. As well when you are involved in a large friend group it is easy to develop “favorites”, people are often drawn to others who are similar. In this way Baba was always drawn to Hassan more than Amir, Amir was most likely more like his mother which affected their relationship greatly. Once Baba and Amir went to America it was just the two of them, they were finally able to be father and son. Sharing little jokes, laughing together, eventually working together as well. Both Afghanistan and America had huge effects on Baba and Amir’s relationship, the different environments caused an immense impact on the way they treated each…

I can’t believe that Amir graduated high school and is now going to junior college. He thinks that he will be “discovered” and will make a living off of stories that he makes up. I do not understand how he thinks that he will make money off of words on paper. I wish you were here so he could see that you support him through his decisions, especially the ones I am not as passionate about as he is. Amir talks about how he wishes you could come to America because we both miss you and it would make all of our lives better.…

In the beginning, the relationship between Amir and his father Baba is the most talked about. Like most young men Amir admires his Baba, “He motioned to me to hold to his hat for him and I was glad to, because everyone would see that he was my father, my Baba.”( P.16) He strives for his fathers acceptance and approval though he rarely feels as though he has attained it. Amir makes several attempts to try and please his father.( most importantly the ass raping part, end of Amir’s childhood)TENSION, losing life long friend Ali and illegitimate child Hassan caused some resentment of Amir from Baba. “But the truth of it was, I always felt like Baba hated me a little. And why not?” (p.20) Although Amir makes many…

In the marriage between Amir and Soraya, only the actions leading to their marriage influenced their future together, not their past histories. The relationship between Amir and Hassan is one that is complex. There is a bond between them that is only openly acknowledged by one party. The Amir’s denial of their friendship and constant picking on Hassan stems not only from their different cultural and ethnological background but also from his insecurities as a boy. Despite all of this, Hassan still insists, “Amir Agha and I are friends.” (43) and he does so without reservation or malice. As can be inferred from the above statements, the relationship between Amir and Hassan is one-sided.…

Throughout the first five chapters we are introduced to many characters, Amir, Hassan, Baba, Ali, Rahim and Assef to just name a few. We are also introduced to some relationships between different characters. We can see a relationship between Amir and Baba, also Amir and Hassan. As well as their personalities, we see that Amir can be timid at times for example when Assef and his friends confront him and Hassan. Although he stands up to him we see how scared he is and ultimately it is Hassan who backs them off. Also, Amir is constantly looking for his father's attention. I think that the relationship between Amir and Baba will a main focal point throughout the duration of this book. The lack of attention that Baba gave Amir was quite noticeable…

He grew into my cheerleader, my supporter, my rock, my third parent, and my best friend. When we were younger, I remember him saying he was going to follow me wherever I went. He even meant it with transitioning with grades. Even though he is a whole year behind me, David was determined to be at the middle school exactly when I was to be there. The summer I left for college, it hurt leaving him in Scranton, while pursuing a degree in a town an hour and a half away. I didn't know how to feel without him being next to me. Dave and I grew up having our rooms ten feet away. I can say that a year later, after he picked a different university as mine, I was sad, disappointed, but tremendously proud my best friend wouldn’t be there with me. But it also meant that he didn’t fulfill that same promise he once was so persisted…

But, what matters, is how many times he's uplifted me. I know pure happiness is far away in my distant future, but he brings me closer everyday. Years ago, if someone had told me I'd fall for a baggy eyed, small, nearly 30 year old grown man, I'd think that's insane. But now, I can't imagine a time I didn't love him, or a time I won't. My mind everyday is on him, and I'll never comprehend that. He's the one thing I immediately think of when I need a reminder to live, or to simply be happy. He is always the first person I look to for comfort, although he can't give it directly. I'm in love with him. I'm so deeply in love with him. It will never matter to me how many times I'm told "you don't REALLY love him." or "you just think he's cute." because I know I've completely fallen for…

One of the closes relationships that I am currently engaging in is with my boyfriend ST. We have been together for almost three years now, and most of the time we are 6000 miles apart. Yes, we are in a long distance relationship, he lives Xuzhou, China, and I go to school here in Seattle. During the span of three years, we have seen some hardships and struggles, and the experiences and memories we share are incalculable. There are times when I am overjoyed and filled with happiness, and other times the distance makes the loneliness so palpable that I am on the verge of giving up. Yet, no matter what happens, he has always been there for me, both physically and emotionally. He has shown me so much love and compassion through his actions and words, especially in moments of sadness and distress. Even though he is not always vocal about how he thinks of me, he offers self-verification and positive illusions that create a satisfying relationship.…
