*Title: The Scarlet Letter

*Author: Nathaniel Hawthorne

*Type of Book: Romantic work of fiction -It is a story about a woman who had a husband who's been abroad for years, maybe lost at sea. And she refuses to give up the name of the man she loves. She'll protect him and their forbidden love-to the very end. *Main Character: Hester Prynne Hester is the book's protagonist and the wearer of the scarlet letter that gives the book its title. The letter, a patch of fabric in the shape of an “A,” signifies that Hester is an “adulterer.” As a young woman, Hester married an elderly scholar, Chillingworth, who sent her ahead to America to live but never followed her. While waiting for him, she had an affair with a Puritan minister named Dimmesdale, after which she gave birth to Pearl. Hester is passionate but also strong—she endures years of shame and scorn. She equals both her husband and her lover in her intelligence and thoughtfulness. Her alienation puts her in the position to make acute observations about her community, particularly about its treatment of women.

*The Main Character changes from being a sinner to be brave and strong by accepting the truth and by doing the right thing by the end of the story.

*The Main Character does the right thing when: She fights for the right of her child and she really accepts the truth and she really explains to her child what was going on and what is she doing for her child. And she never denied the truth about her sin and she really confess it in the front of many people.
*I can identify with the character when: She is revealed as the sinner of the sin adultery especially when she is brought in front of the faces of many people and there she is punished and prisoned.
*Another Character: Pearl Hester’s illegitimate

Since the advent of microfinance banking in Bangladesh in the mid 1970’s, several countries have copied this financing model. The seeming popularity of this model among developing countries is predicated on poverty reduction prospect it offers. The Nigerian government cued into this popular thinking in 2005 when it inaugurated the microfinance banking scheme. This was founded to provide finance to economically active poor excluded from financing by conventional banks, provide employment, engender rural development and reduce poverty. This paper theoretically examines the challenges these banks have had to grapple with from their inception. Furthermore, it scans the business environment to assess the prospects of microfinance banks in Nigeria. The paper shows that microfinance banking in Nigeria faces enormous challenges in infrastructural inadequacies, social misconception, poor legal and regulatory framework, unbridled competition from other financial institutions, abandonment of core microfinance function and paucity of qualified manpower. Despite this plethora of challenges, the study identified several areas where opportunities exist for these banks. The growing entrepreneurial awareness, increasing government interest, large unbanked rural area and high population of poor people were identified as some of these opportunities. The paper argues that with proper regulatory interventions and commitment of other stakeholders to the core mission of…
