A hole is made at the bottom of an empty can with a strong string inserted into the hole, with one of its ends tied into a large knot inside the empty can. The other end is kept loose for the player to use while walking on the stilts. Form two teams. Draw a line on the ground to mark the starting point. Have the two teams line up behind this. Five feet away from the starting line, mark the turnaround point. The first player at the head of the line is ready to walk on the can stilts with its strings inserted between the big toe and second toe of each foot.
B. How to Play
At a signal from the teacher, the first players of each team start walking from the starting line toward the turnaround point and back while wearing the can stilts. Upon returning to the starting line, Player no. 1 quickly passes on the stilts to the next player. The game proceeds in this manner until all members of the team have taken their turn.
